Apparatus and method to confirm anchor holding status
11485454 · 2022-11-01 ·

An anchor assembly for discerning if an anchor has securely engaged with the seabed, having a float with a length of line below no more than twice the distance from the water's surface to the seabed. The float includes a redirection element that allows the line to support a ballast weight via a descending portion of the line and an ascending portion that is secured to an anchor. The volume of the float and ballast weight are selected such that the float remains visibly buoyant when the anchor is stationary, yet becomes wholly or partially submerged when the anchor is in motion with respect to the seabed surface.

Buoy with buoyant core and collar having multiple flotation components
11608141 · 2023-03-21 · ·

The invention relates to a buoy comprising a buoyant, plastic core component, and a plurality of detachable flotation components that support and surround the core component. The buoy is preferably more than 2.5 metres diameter, but the diameter of the core component is preferably less than or equal to 2.35 metres diameter. This facilitates transport in a single shipping container. A novel tie bar assembly and novel lifting/mooring mounts are also disclosed.

ECO-FRIENDLY UNDERWATER BUOY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
20230145140 · 2023-05-11 ·

The present invention provides an eco-friendly underwater buoy and a manufacturing method therefor, the underwater buoy comprising: a liner main body of which the inside is hollow; a winding member which is melt welded on the outer surface of the liner main body by winding, and which absorbs external shock; and buoy couplers embedded in both ends of the liner main body so as to couple adjacent underwater buoys to each other. The present invention winds, through filament winding, a wire, in which a glass fiber, a resin and the like are mixed, around the outside of a liner structure so as to manufacture an underwater buoy, and thus, since the underwater buoy is made of a composite material, the appearance of the buoy structure can be stably maintained for a long time without damage caused by various underwater shocks, so that underwater environmental pollution caused by buoy structure damage can be minimized, thereby maximizing the eco-friendliness of the underwater buoy.

Incremental deployment of a buoy or buoy network

A mooring system including a plurality of connected floats and weights being positively buoyant on a water surface and being negatively buoyant at a depth below the water surface. The mooring system also includes a trigger mechanism arranged to reduce the buoyancy of a portion of the connected floats and weights from a being positively buoyant to negatively buoyant to cause the portion of the connected floats and weights to sink below the water surface where the trigger mechanism changes the buoyance of the portion of the connected floats and weights by either adding a weight to one end or separating the end from a buoyant element.
