FLEXIBLE INSTRUMENT DELIVERY DEVICE
A surgical access assembly may include an outer sheath defined by an open distal end and an open proximal end and including a hollow body portion therebetween, and a flexible tool delivery device having a hub and a guide tube, the hub configured to selectively secure to a rim at the proximal end of the outer sheath, and the guide tube configured to extend at least partially into the outer sheath and provide a flexible tool proximate to a tissue.
Ultrasonic Surgical Tool Capable Of Vibrating In Plural Modes And A Drive System That Induces Non-Linear Vibrations In The Tool Tip
An ultrasonic surgical tool system with a tip capable of simultaneously vibrating in plural modes. The system includes a console capable of supplying a drive signal to the tip that includes plural components. Each component has a frequency characteristic that is based in part on the equivalent of current through the mechanical components of the tip. The frequency components are different from each other. Based on the application of drive signal the tip undergoes non-linear vibrations.

METHOD OF APPLYING BUTTRESSES TO SURGICALLY CUT AND STAPLED SITES
A method of applying a buttress to a surgically cut and stapled site uses an end effector with a buttress applier cartridge assembly to load one or more buttress assemblies to the end effector. The buttress assemblies each include a buttress to support a staple formed therein as well an adhesive for adhering to the end effector. The adhesive of the buttress assemblies can include a pattern to assist in both attachment to the end effector and release from the end effector after cutting and stapling a tissue site. The buttress applier cartridge can include features that accommodate end effectors having various tip configurations, including straight tips and curved or bent tips.
Surgical instrument
A tool comprises a distal portion and a proximal portion spaced apart by a shaft along a longitudinal axis. The distal portion includes a distal link and the proximal portion including a proximal link. The distal link and proximal link form a pair of links. The tool also comprises a set of tension load bearing members connecting the proximal link and the distal link and terminating at the links of the pair to transfer movement therebetween. The tool also comprises an articulation lock positioned between the distal portion and the proximal portion and configured to allow through passage of the set of tension load bearing members. The articulation lock is adjustable between an unlocked configuration in which the proximal and distal links are moveable and a locked configuration in which an effective length of the shaft is increased, creating a force to impede movement of the proximal and distal links.
Cooled burr surgical instruments
Featured is a surgical instrument including an end effector such as a rotating cutting implement and a heat transfer mechanism such as a cooling device, such as can include a phase change device, such as can be configured to absorb heat energy during the use of such a rotating cutting implement. The heat transfer mechanism can be configured so the absorbed heat energy is communicated to an external heat sink. Such a heat transfer mechanism can include a heat pipe, e.g., a scintered or wick type heat pipe. The heat energy is absorbed at one end of the heat pipe to minimize the potential for damage to the tissue and the like at and/or about the surgical site. Also featured are a surgical apparatus embodying such a surgical instrument and surgical or medical methods or procedures for manipulating, rotatably cutting, grinding, abrading or debriding tissue, bone or other structures or components of a mammalian body using such surgical instruments or surgical apparatus.

Systems and methods for preventing the seeding of cancerous cells during morcellation of a tissue specimen inside a patient's body and removal of the tissue specimen from inside the patient through a minimally-invasive body opening to outside the patient are provided. One system includes a cut-resistant tissue guard removably insertable into a containment bag. The tissue specimen is isolated and contained within the containment bag and the guard is configured to protect the containment bag and surrounding tissue from incidental contact with sharp instrumentation used during morcellation and extraction of the tissue specimen. The guard is adjustable for easy insertion and removal and configured to securely anchor to the body opening. Protection-focused and containment-based systems for tissue removal are provided that enable minimally invasive procedures to be performed safely and efficiently.
Ultrasonic surgical instrument with removable shaft assembly portion
An apparatus includes a body, a shaft assembly, and an end effector. The shaft assembly includes an outer tube, an inner tube, and an acoustic waveguide. The end effector includes an ultrasonic blade and a clamp arm. The ultrasonic blade is acoustically coupled with the acoustic waveguide. A first portion of the clamp arm is pivotably coupled with a distal end of the outer tube. A second portion of the clamp arm is pivotably coupled with a distal end of the inner tube. The outer tube and the inner tube are configured to removably couple with the body such that the outer tube, the inner tube, and the clamp arm are configured to removably couple with the body and the remainder of the shaft assembly and end effector as a unit.
Interfacing a surgical robotic arm and instrument
An interface structure for detachably interfacing a surgical robot arm to a surgical instrument, the interface structure comprising: a base portion comprising a first surface for facing the surgical instrument and a second surface for facing the surgical robot arm; and a plurality of first fasteners supported by the base portion and protruding from the first surface, the plurality of first fasteners configured to engage the surgical instrument so as to retain the interface structure to the surgical instrument. The interface structure engages the surgical robot arm so as to retain the interface structure to the surgical robot arm, wherein the plurality of first fasteners and the remainder of the interface structure are shaped such that when the surgical instrument is detached from the surgical robot arm the interface structure is retained to the surgical robot arm.
Device used in the implementation of laparoscopic hydatid cyst operations
The present invention relates to a laparoscopic device used in laparoscopic cyst hydatid operations, which has a shaft that enables simultaneous performance of the breaking of the cyst content in the area by the blade in the conical slot at the end of the shaft, aspiration of the cyst fluid and the broken female vesicles and if required, washing processes and an electrically connected hand unit. The mentioned laparoscopic device contains a motor inside the hand unit, motor drive unit, cycle unit, cycle control unit and trigger and the shaft part contains aspiration channel, washing channel, the shaft enabling the blade movement and blade unit in the conical slot at the end part of the same shaft, which rotates transversely to the conical slot.
