Jet propulsion watercraft

A jet propulsion watercraft includes a vessel body, a jet pump that is disposed at the vessel body and that includes a water jet opening, and a first guide that is attached to the vessel body. The jet pump generates a thrust by sucking in water existing around the vessel body and jetting the water from the water jet opening. The first guide receives water flowing on a lateral side of the vessel body and generates a downforce that generates a wake behind the vessel body.

A wave generating apparatus mobile application controller and method are provided in which a mobile controller actuates a plurality of wave generating chambers in sequence using a delay between the actuation of each chamber to produce a rideable wave in a pool. The mobile application controller allows the user to select the exact type of wave to be produced by the wave generator apparatus by selecting the size, shape, and pattern of the wave. The application also allows the user to use a camera to photograph or record herself or someone else, even while riding a wave.

DEFEAT RESISTANT BALLAST FILTRATION SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED METHODS

A defeat resistant ballast filtration system for a recreational boat includes a pump to pump water into a ballast tank. The system also includes a filter having an inlet in fluid communication with an outlet of the pump and an outlet of the filter is in fluid communication with an inlet port of the ballast tank. In addition, the system includes a pressure sensor that is configured to measure an upstream pressure at the inlet of the filter and to measure a downstream pressure at the outlet of the filter to determine a pressure differential. The system includes an electronic control unit (ECU) configured to determine when the pressure differential is not within a predetermined range, and in response to not being within the pre-determined range, the ECU is configured to make the pump inoperable to pump the water into the ballast tank.

Wake-Modifying Device for a Boat

A recreational sport boat includes a hull having starboard and port sides and a transom, a generally horizontal platform, and a pair of wake-modifying devices positioned aft of the transom. The generally horizontal platform extends aft of the transom and is configured to support a human weighing at least 100 lbs. on an upper surface thereof. The pair of wake-modifying devices are attached to the platform. One of the wake-modifying devices is positioned on a port side of the platform's centerline, and another of the wake-modifying devices is positioned on a starboard side of the platform's centerline. Each wake-modifying device is moveable between a non-deployed position and a deployed position in which the wake-modifying device is angled downwardly at an angle relative to the top surface of the generally horizontal platform.

Wake shaping apparatus and related technology

The invention provides an apparatus that attaches to a hull of a boat to disrupt water flow around the hull such that a wake created behind the boat is larger, differently positioned, and/or differently shaped. The apparatus includes a base and a blade. The blade is equipped with a mount structure that attaches the base to the blade. The blade can be reversibly mountable to the base such that either face of the blade faces a desired direction. The apparatus provides tool-free adjustment between a first configuration in which the base is mounted to the blade and a second configuration in which the base and the blade are separated. In some embodiments, the apparatus is removably attached to the hull by one or more suction cups. Additionally, the apparatus can be inflatable. The invention further provides a deployable lanyard assembly and a splash deflector for use with the apparatus.

PANEL DROP DOWN BOARDING POINT FOR A RECREATIONAL WATERCRAFT
20220081076 · 2022-03-17 ·

The present disclosure includes recreational watercraft including a drop down boarding point. One example includes a hull, an open platform passenger deck, and a plurality of sides, continuous from the hull. The watercraft includes a panel drop down boarding point, hingedly attached horizontally to the hull, for ingress and egress of persons to the watercraft. The panel drop down boarding point includes a first surface interior to the watercraft when the panel drop down boarding point is closed, a second surface, opposite to the first surface and exterior to the watercraft when the panel drop down boarding point is closed, and an aperture formed between the first surface and the second surface and having an opening in an end surface of the panel drop down boarding point. The aperture is sized and shaped to house a retractable ladder and for the ladder to extend out through the opening.

BOATS, METHODS, AND DEVICES USED TO GENERATE A DESIRED WAKE

A boat includes a propulsion device and a surf device. The propulsion device is configured to move the boat in a forward direction through a body of water to generate a wake having a port-side wave and a starboard-side wave. The surf device includes an inlet, an impeller, and an outlet. The surf device is configured to draw water from the body of water through the inlet, accelerate the water by rotating the impeller, and discharge the accelerated water through the outlet to create a surfable wake.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WATER SPORTS AUTOMATION AND ENHANCED SITUATIONAL AWARENESS
20220089259 · 2022-03-24 ·

An objective of the present invention is to provide a system to sense immersion of a participant into water. The system comprises a smart flag and an alarm device of a watercraft, and an FOB device of a participant. The smart flag, the alarm, and the FOB device are wirelessly connected to each other. The FOB device detects the immersion of the participant in the water. The smart flag is automatically deployed based on the detected immersion. The alarm device is automatically turned ON creating an alarm indicating an SOS signal. When the participant gets submerged in the water, the communication is ceased, thus initiating the flag to go up automatically and alarm a captain of the watercraft. Deployment of the flag lets surrounding watercraft to know that the participant is in the water.
