TISSUE RETRACTOR
20170361012 · 2017-12-21 ·

A devise for retracting or opening a tissue wound employs two retractor arms that do not enter or penetrate into the wound. The retractor arms engage the tissue on either side of the wound and apply outward pressure on the tissue surface to open the wound.

Umbrella inferior vena cava filter retrieval device
09844395 · 2017-12-19 · ·

A device for retrieval of a vena cava filter is provided. The retrieval device has, approximately, an umbrella shape and consists of a central shaft; a plurality of frame struts, attached to frame strut attachment points on the central shaft and disposed radially about the central shaft; and a plurality of snare wires. The retrieval device has a collapsed configuration for insertion and removal from a blood vessel of a patient and an expanded state for capturing an intravascular filter in the blood vessel of the patient. The plurality of snare wires provides multiple points at which a vena cava filter, particularly one that has become misaligned during deployment or treatment, can be caught. The frame struts can be substantially sinusoidal in shape and made of shape memory metal, such as Nitinol. The snare wires can be made of a biocompatible material such as silk, polyester, polypropylene, or nylon.

The multifunctional pocket knife (1) is composed of a handle (2) formed by two joined-together flanks (3, 3′) that provide at least one stowage space (4) for tools that each pivot about link pins (5, 5′) arranged at each end of the handle (2). It is characterized in that it comprises a planar tick-removal instrument (6) that pivots about one of said link pins (5, 5′) and that extends along the longitudinal axis of the pocket knife. Tick-removal instrument (6) designed to be incorporated into a multifunctional pocket knife (1).

TISSUE SLITTING METHODS AND SYSTEMS

Methods and systems for separating an object, such as a lead, from formed tissue are provided. Specifically, a tissue slitting device is configured to engage patient formed tissue at a slitting engagement point. While the object is subjected to a first traction force, the tissue slitting device is caused to move further into the engaged tissue and slit the tissue past the point of engagement. The slitting device causes the tissue to separate along an axial direction of the length of the formed tissue and releases at least some of the force containing the object. The methods and systems are well suited for use in cardiac pacing or defibrillator lead explant procedures.

Microdermabrasion system upgrade kit

A microdermabrasion system upgrade kit includes a plurality of couplers from which a user may choose one or more couplers in order to connect the upgrade kit to a vacuum source of an existing microdermabrasion system. In an implementation, the upgrade kit includes a power socket that the user can plug the vacuum source into.

INTERVENTIONAL MEDICAL DEVICE RETRIEVAL
20170340316 · 2017-11-30 ·

A system for retrieving an implanted medical device includes an outer tubular member and a contractible super-elastic net, which may be joined to an elongate shaft that extends in sliding engagement within the outer tubular member. When the net expands from a contracted condition the net defines a longitudinally extending tubular cavity. An open end of the cavity is sized to receive passage of a housing of the device therethrough; and the net, with the device housing contained therein, forms an interference fit within an inner diameter of the outer tubular member. But, an outer diameter of the net, in a fully expanded condition, is larger than the inner diameter.
