An interactive control unit is disclosed. The interactive control unit includes an interactive touchscreen display, an interface configured to couple the control unit to a surgical hub, a processor, and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to receive input commands from the interactive touchscreen display located inside a sterile field and transmit the input commands to the surgical hub to control devices coupled to the surgical hub located outside the sterile field.

An end effector for an electrosurgical instrument is disclosed which includes a first jaw, a first energy delivery surface, a first distal end, and a first proximal end. A second jaw of the end effector includes a second energy delivery surface, a second distal end, and a second proximal end. The end effector also includes an electrically conductive gap setting member which defines a distal gap distance between the first and second energy delivery surfaces. At least one pivot is fixed to one of the jaws to set a proximal gap distance between the first and second energy delivery surfaces. A method for making an end effector and a method for assembling an end effector for an electrosurgical instrument are also disclosed.

The present is directed to improved systems and methods for skin cooling treatments. A skin cooling treatment system can include a mechanical arm that can have a proximal end and an distal end. The system can include a processor that can control the mechanical arm, and a cryospray applicator. The cryospray applicator can be coupled to the distal end of the mechanical arm and can be moveable by the mechanical arm to deliver a spray of cryogen to a portion of an area of skin tissue for treatment. The cryospray applicator can include an array of orifices through which the cryogen can be sprayed.

An end effector for an electrosurgical instrument is disclosed which comprises a first jaw comprising a first energy delivery surface, a first distal end, and a first proximal end; and a second jaw comprising a second energy delivery surface, a second distal end, and a second proximal end, wherein the first energy delivery surface comprises a first curved portion that is outwardly curved, and the second energy delivery surface comprises a second curved portion that is inwardly curved. The first jaw or the second jaw is configured for pivotal movement between an open position and a closed position. In the open position, the first and second distal ends are separated apart. In the closed position, the first and second distal ends are in proximity. The end effector also comprises an electrically conductive member which protrudes from either the first or second jaw.

The fluid coupling of the left ventricle of the heart to the anterior interventricular vein includes a control of the diastolic/systolic pressure in the venous system to be within about 20-50 mmHg. The fluid coupling of the left ventricle of the heart to the anterior interventricular vein includes inserting a transmyocardial conduit into the left ventricle and a tri-directional coupler attached to the anterior interventricular vein. An associated method for stimulation of collateral development in ischemic cardiac regions via the fluid coupling of the left ventricle of the heart to the anterior interventricular vein is disclosed.

A surgical system is disclosed comprising a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to receive imaging data from a surgical visualization system, identify a critical structure within a patient based on the imaging data received from the surgical visualization system, transmit a margin signal based on the identified critical structure, measure a size of an anatomical structure of the patient based on the imaging data, identify information about a surgical instrument of a plurality of surgical instruments, customize an operational parameter of a surgical instrument of the plurality of surgical instruments, and provide electrosurgical energy to electrosurgical instruments of the plurality of surgical instrument. A display is configured to display a digital representation of the critical structure on the display. The display is configured to display a resection margin around the critical structure. The resection margin is generated based on the margin signal.

A cryoablation catheter includes an inner lumen and an inflatable balloon surrounding the inner lumen. An inflow pipe is disposed within the inflatable balloon and is configured to introduce a refrigerant into the balloon. A thermocouple wire is disposed within the inflatable balloon and positioned adjacent the inflow pipe. The thermocouple wire is configured to measure an internal temperature of the balloon. The cryoablation catheter further includes an isolation guide disposed within the inflatable balloon. The isolation guide includes a central bore configured to receive the inner lumen, an inflow bore configured to receive the inflow pope, and a thermocouple bore configured to receive the thermocouple wire. The thermocouple bore is spaced from the inflow bore along the isolation guide.
