ARTHROSCOPIC DEVICES AND METHODS
An arthroscopic or other surgical system includes a handpiece and a probe. The handpiece carries a motor drive, and the probe has a proximal hub and an elongate shaft which extends about a longitudinal axis to a working end of the probe. The hub is configured for detachably coupling to the handpiece, and the motor drive is configured to couple to a rotating drive coupling in the hub when the hub is coupled to the handpiece. A first magnetic component is carried by the hub, and a second magnetic component is coupled to rotate with the rotating drive coupling.
Surgical instruments and methods for performing tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, and other surgical procedures
An end effector assembly for a surgical instrument includes first and second jaw members, each including a jaw frame, spacer, electrically-conductive plate, and outer housing. The jaw frame includes at least one proximal flange and a distal jaw support extending distally therefrom. The spacer defines a body and a wing disposed on either side of the body. The body defines a channel configured to receive the distal jaw support while each wing defines a slot. The plate defines a tissue-contacting portion and first and second legs extending perpendicularly from the tissue-contacting portion. The tissue-contacting portion is configured to sit atop the body of the spacer. Each of the legs is configured for receipt within the slot defined within one of the wings. The outer housing at least partially surrounds the distal jaw support, spacer, and legs and is configured to retain these components in position relative to one another.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR TREATING KIDNEY STONES
An endoscope includes a handle including a handle housing, an irrigation inlet port adapted to receive irrigation fluid, and an irrigation channel; and an insertion cord extending distally from the handle. The insertion cord includes an insertion tube; a bending section extending from the insertion tube; a distal tip extending from the bending section and including a tip housing; a camera at least partially enclosed in the tip housing; interstitial space within the insertion tube in fluid communication with the irrigation channel; and at least one interstitial flow opening in fluid communication with the interstitial space and adapted to discharge the irrigation fluid.
Surgical tools for spinal facet therapy to alleviate pain and related methods
Methods and surgical tools for treating back pain use a spinal facet debridement tool with cautery and denuding action and minimally invasive protocol that can denude and cauterize soft tissue associated with a synovial capsule of the spinal facet joint.
SURGICAL DEVICE HAVING AXIALLY RECIPROCATING ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY AND METHODS FOR TREATING PROSTATE
A tissue resecting device includes a handle, a shaft assembly movably attached to the handle, a housing secured to a distal end of the shaft, and an electrode. The electrode is disposed in the housing to move across a window, and at least one motor in the handle both reciprocates the shaft assembly relative to the handle and drives the electrode across the window.
Electrosurgical instrument and system
A handheld electrosurgical instrument includes a handpiece (2) and an electrode assembly (3), the electrode assembly including one or more electrodes (12), (13) and a connector (8), (9) by which the electrode assembly (3) is capable of being attached and detached with respect to the handpiece (2). The handpiece includes a battery (4), an RF oscillator circuit (5) for generating a radio frequency output, and switching means (7) operable by a user of the electrosurgical instrument. A control circuit is provided (6) for controlling the RF output, the control circuit (6) being capable of receiving signals from the switching means (7) and causing one or more RF outputs to be supplied to the electrode assembly (3) in response thereto. The electrode assembly (3) includes a component (14), (21) capable of modifying the RF output reaching the one or more electrodes (12), (13) to produce a desired RF output at the one or more electrodes.
Catheter with soft distal tip for mapping and ablating tubular region
A catheter includes an elongated body having a longitudinal axis, a distal assembly distal the elongated body, the distal assembly having a tapered helical form comprising a larger, electrode-carrying proximal loop and a smaller, softer distal loop, and a shape-memory support member extending through at least the proximal loop. For example, the helical loop subtends at least about 720 radial degrees, with the proximal loop subtending about 360 radial degrees, and the distal loop subtending about 360 radial degrees. The softer distal loop with a straight distal end atraumatically guides the distal assembly into a tubular region so that the larger proximal loop can sit on the ostium of the tubular region with improved electrode and tissue contact.
SYSTEM WITH DISEASE DIAGNOSIS AND SKIN AGE MEASUREMENT FUNCTIONS AND HANDPIECE USED THEREWITH
An aesthetic or medical system is provided. The aesthetic or medical system includes: a laser irradiation device configured to generate a laser and project the laser onto body tissue; a probe configured to collect light which is generated when the laser is projected onto the body tissue; and an analysis unit configured to diagnose a disease by analyzing a spectrum of the light collected by the probe, and the probe is detachably connected to the laser irradiation device.
Medical device handles and related methods of use
A device may include a sheath including a lumen, a distal end, and a proximal end. The device may further include an end-effector unit and an elongate member connected to the end-effector unit. The end-effector unit and the sheath may be movable relative to each other to achieve a first state of the end-effector unit and a second state of the end-effector unit. Moreover, the medical device may include a handle having a first handle portion connected to the proximal end of the sheath, a second handle portion connected to the proximal end of the elongate member, and a compliant member longitudinally aligned with the sheath between the first handle portion and the second handle portion. The first and second handle portions may be configured such that relative movement of the first and second handle portions causes the end-effector to move between the first and second states.
