Lanyard system and method for a marine vessel
A lanyard system for a marine vessel propelled by at least one propulsion device includes an operator device worn by an operator of the marine vessel, a receiver device at a helm area of the marine vessel, wherein the receiver device is configured to detect whether the operator is within a permitted zone with respect to the helm area, and a control configured to generate a lanyard event when the operator is not detected within the permitted zone and, upon generating a lanyard event, reduce an rpm of the propulsion device at a pre-set reduction rate to an idle rpm.
Fog Safety System and Method
Systems and methods for displaying a communication from a vessel in a first location to a person or second vessel in a second location are described. The communication system alerts persons and other nearby vessels to the presence of the vessel during fog and other low visibility conditions on a body of water. The communication is displayed by the system in the form of a light display routine that can be a text communication, an image, an animation, a video, or a combination of them. The system includes a computer and a network to communicatively connect the computer to at least one splitter, at least control unit, and at least one light fixture, which can be an array of light emitting diodes. The computer commences the light display routine based on detection of a trigger event by analyzing data received from onboard sensor devices, an external source, or both.
PERSONAL WATERCRAFT AUTO-RETURN SYSTEM
A personal watercraft auto-return system includes a user device having a rider location determination unit, a user interface, and a communication unit. The system also includes an autopilot unit that is positioned within a personal watercraft. The autopilot unit including a steering unit for controlling the steering the watercraft, and a controller having a processor and memory for controlling the engine and throttle controls of the watercraft. The controller selectively activates the steering unit, engine, and throttle of the personal watercraft to navigate to the location of the user device upon receiving a request from the user interface.
DISTRESS DEVICE OF LIFEJACKET
A distress device of lifejacket includes: a lifejacket main body; a wireless emitter, disposed inside the lifejacket main body and including a circuit board and an antenna, wherein the antenna is electrically connected to the circuit board; and a lithium polymer battery, electrically connected to the circuit board and disposed inside the lifejacket main body. Accordingly, the lithium polymer battery can be adopted to replace a convention lithium battery, so that the distress device of lifejacket can be safety disposed in an aircraft for providing sufficient amount of electricity required by the wireless emitter, thereby allowing the distress device of lifejacket to have an additional function of emitting signals, and the research and rescue team is able to rapidly locate the sufferer, so that the distress device of lifejacket is provided with advantages of increasing operation safety and facilitating the locating procedure for search and rescue.
Marker and recovery device
A marker and recovery device comprising: an enclosure secured to a torso of a wearer; a bladder configured to fit within the enclosure in an uninflated state, the bladder including an elongate tube being physically connected at a first end to the enclosure; a first upper tube fluidly connected to the elongate tube at a distal end of the elongate tube; and a second upper tube fluidly connected to the elongate tube at the distal end of the elongate tube; and an inflation mechanism to inflate the bladder to extend the bladder from the uninflated state to a deployed state in which said elongate tube extends from said enclosure and where the first upper tube and second upper tube form a handle portion at the end of the elongate tube.
Systems and methods for handling a man overboard situation
Methods and systems for detecting and locating a man overboard situation. In particular, the methods and systems detect a point of loss of a man overboard situation and allow for the ship to coordinate back to the point of loss.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING WHEN A WATER-SPORTS PARTICIPANT HAS FALLEN
A boat, boat systems, and methods to determine when a water-sports participant has fallen. The boat may include an image sensor and an image processor communicatively coupled to the image sensor. The image sensor is configured to capture at least one image of the environment aft of the stern of the boat. The image processor is configured to execute a rider-down analysis that includes analyzing, using an object recognition process executed by the image processor, an image to be analyzed to determine if a water-sports participant has fallen. The boat may include a controller configured to execute a rider-down action when the water-sports participant has fallen. The controller may execute the rider-down action when the image processor determines that the water-sports participant has fallen based upon the rider-down analysis.
Motor kill switch arrangement
The present invention relates to motor safety devices as used in increasing numbers for the killing of engines or disengaging propulsion units from motors, when there are no operators to maintain control of an apparatus or vehicle such as jet-ski, boat, go-kart and the like or personnel to oversee use of a motorised tool or the like. Motor boat operators on a boat have been known to fall overboard without being detected by the operator of the boat. Such runaway boats have been known to seriously injure the operator of the boat in the water since a runaway boat tends to circle back to the place where the operator has fallen overboard. The present invention is also applicable to other types of equipment such as motorised gymnasium equipment, hand operated power tools, such as agricultural and arboriculturist equipment and wood working tools.
