Rescue device
A throwable rotateable rescue device with a retrieval cord and a set of peripheral handles that are retained within the rescue ring during storage and throwing of the rescue ring but are automatically extendable to a grasping position without interfering with the rescue device retrieval cord during the flight of the rescue ring thereby enabling a person in distress to easily and quickly grasp the handles and be pulled to safety through the retrieval cord.
System, method and apparatus for radio frequency based location and tracking
A method for wirelessly transmitting geographic coordinate information and a system and apparatus implementing the method. The method may include obtaining a latitude coordinate and a longitude coordinate, correlating a first radio frequency to the latitude coordinate, correlating a second radio frequency to the longitude coordinate, transmitting a signal at the first radio frequency, and transmitting a signal at the second radio frequency.
POWER GENERATING ELEMENT, LIGHT EMITTING ELEMENT, BAND-LIKE LIGHT EMITTING BODY, AND RESCUE DISPLAY DEVICE
A power generating element is provided. The power generating element includes a pair of electrodes and an intermediate layer disposed between the pair of electrodes. The intermediate layer includes an insulating elastic body. The power generating element is flexibly bendable when receiving an external force, while causing a sliding transfer between at least one of the electrodes and at least one surface of the intermediate layer which faces the at least one of the electrodes, due to a difference in curvature between the electrodes and the intermediate layer.
Overboard detection system, and watercraft including the overboard detection system
An overboard detection system includes a fob to be carried by a user on a watercraft, an overboard sensor to detect a user overboard event when the user carrying the fob falls overboard, and a communicator on the watercraft to wirelessly communicate with the fob and to transmit a rescue intention notification indicating a rescue intention to the fob carried by the user involved in the overboard event. The fob includes a transmitter operable to provide the rescue intention notification to the overboard user upon reception of the rescue intention notification.
Tetherless shutoff systems and methods for powersport vehicles
Methods and systems for operating powersport vehicles during an operator-vehicle separation condition are provided. One method includes detecting the operator-vehicle separation condition using a first tetherless criterion and a second tetherless criterion. In response to detecting the operator-vehicle separation condition using both the first tetherless criterion and the second tetherless criterion, the method includes preventing propulsion of the powersport vehicle.
SYSTEM FOR AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING WATERCRAFT
A system for controlling a watercraft includes a sensor to detect a position of a watercraft user, and a controller. When the watercraft user is not in an allowed area including a watercraft operating position, the controller is configured or programmed to stop a marine propulsion device or control the marine propulsion device to decelerate a watercraft. When the watercraft user is in a first region, the controller is configured or programmed to control the marine propulsion device in accordance with how a watercraft operator is operated. When the watercraft user is in a second region farther from the watercraft operating position than the first region but within the allowed area, the controller is configured or programmed to lock the watercraft operator. The controller is configured or programmed to disable an operation performed on the watercraft operator while the watercraft operator is locked.
System for detecting a man-overboard event
A system for detecting a man-overboard event, comprising a plurality of first computing units having at least one optical sensor with a predetermined detection range and a second computing unit connected to the plurality of computing units, characterized in that each first computing unit is designed, independently of the others, to evaluate the data sensed by the at least one optical sensor of the respective first computing unit to determine whether a man-overboard event is present on the basis of these data and, when a man-overboard event is present, to report this to the second computing unit, wherein the second computing unit is designed to output an alarm and/or a control command to carry out a man-overboard manoeuvre.
Watercraft control system, watercraft control method, program, and vehicle control system
A watercraft control system includes a watercraft and a communication device. The communication device includes a communication unit configured to transmit information indicating a location of the communication device to the watercraft. The watercraft includes a communication unit configured to receive the information indicating the location of the communication device and a difference calculation unit configured to calculate a difference between the location of the communication device and a location of the watercraft.
Life saving apparatus
A life saving apparatus is presented. The apparatus activates an alarm and/or a notification when a person is in distress such as when a swimmer is drowning. In one embodiment, the alarm or notification may include an audio, a visual and/or combination thereof signal or indication that the person is in distress. The alarm or notification may be provided on a device held or attached to the person, at a base station in proximity to the person, or a combination thereof. In one embodiment, a locator provides an ability to identify the person in distress when that person is located in proximity to other persons so that aid can be given as quickly as possible.
Overboard fall detection unit, portable terminal, and server device
An overboard fall detection unit including: a water environment sensor that is equipped on a ship crewperson and that outputs water environment data around the ship crewperson; an overboard fall detection part that detects an overboard fall of the ship crewperson on the basis of the water environment data; and an overboard fall notification part that transmits a beacon signal that continuously notifies of overboard fall information related to the ship crewperson via one-way communication.
