CONTROL DEVICE
A liquid-ingress control device, comprising a casing having an interior and an exterior, and optionally a liquid-activated trigger positioned in the casing interior; the casing comprising an exterior liquid entry control surface defined by a perimeter in sealing relationship with an edge of a cap, the cap having an interior cap surface formed to define a cap space between the interior cap surface and the liquid entry control surface; the liquid entry control surface comprising a liquid entry port comprising a tube extending between the exterior and interior of the casing through an aperture formed in the entry control surface, the tube optionally comprising a flange positioned exterior to the casing; the cap comprising at least two flow apertures positioned such that liquid contained within the cap space is capable of egress under gravity from the cap space, independently of the orientation of the device.
System and method for monitoring a spatial position of a mobile transmitter, man-over-board detection system
A system and method for monitoring a spatial position of a mobile transmitter is provided. In particular, the mobile transmitter may be attached to or included in an object of interest. By analyzing the signal strengths of radio frequency signals emitted by the transmitter, a spatial position of the mobile transmitter can be determined, and it is possible to detect whether or not the spatial position of the mobile transmitter is outside an allowable area. By applying the monitoring of the spatial position to a radio frequency system on a vessel, a reliable man-over-board detection can be achieved.
RESCUE SIGNAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
A ship includes a controller that performs wireless communications with a portable machine possessed by a passenger and a lanyard stop switch. When a lanyard code coupled to the passenger is pulled out, the lanyard stop switch operates to stop an engine of an outboard motor and stop the ship. When the controller detects that the lanyard stop switch operates, that is, detects a possibility that the passenger has fallen overboard, the controller starts wireless communications with the portable machine. The controller determines whether or not a rescue signal needs to be transmitted in accordance with conditions regarding a power density and a frequency of a radio wave of the wireless communications as predetermined conditions for estimating a situation of the passenger.
LANYARD SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A MARINE VESSEL
A method of operating a wireless lanyard system on a marine vessel having at least one propulsion device includes defining a permitted zone with respect to a helm area where an operator should occupy based on one or more conditions of the marine vessel. Generating a location inquiry signal by a helm transceiver at the helm area of the marine vessel, and receiving an operator location signal from an operator fob worn by the operator of the marine vessel in response to the location inquiry signal. The method further includes determining whether the operator is within the permitted zone with respect to the helm area based on the operator location signal, and generating a lanyard event when the operator is not within the permitted zone. Upon generation of the lanyard event, the propulsion device is controlled to reduce an engine RPM to an idle RPM or the propulsion device is turned off.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING PERSON OVERBOARD
A system for a marine vessel propelled by a propulsion device includes a controller operable in an automatic navigation mode in which the controller automatically controls a thrust of the propulsion device to propel the marine vessel through a body of water. A portable device is carried on an individual on the marine vessel. The controller enables a person overboard detection algorithm in response to enablement of the automatic navigation mode. The person overboard detection algorithm disables the automatic navigation mode in response to detecting a given status of the portable device.
OVERBOARD FALL DETECTION UNIT, PORTABLE TERMINAL, AND SERVER DEVICE
An overboard fall detection unit including: a water environment sensor that is equipped on a ship crewperson and that outputs water environment data around the ship crewperson; an overboard fall detection part that detects an overboard fall of the ship crewperson on the basis of the water environment data; and an overboard fall notification part that transmits a beacon signal that continuously notifies of overboard fall information related to the ship crewperson via one-way communication.
Facilitating search and rescue
An apparatus that facilitates search and rescue, for example, in open water. The apparatus comprises a substrate with a particular geometry and a perimeter. The apparatus further comprises a cover positioned atop the substrate with the cover also having a particular geometry and perimeter, which correspond to the geometry and perimeter of the substrate. An air-tight seal seals the substrate perimeter to the cover perimeter and creates a sealed internal region. A breakable vessel holding an activator is located in the sealed internal region, along with illuminable dyes that are also located in the sealed internal region. When the breakable vessel is broken, the activator reacts with the illuminable dyes and illuminates the illuminable dyes.
Maritime safety system
Disclosed is an apparatus for detecting an object falling from a vessel (1), comprising: a plurality of sensor nodes (100) arranged to be installed around a periphery of the vessel (1), each of the plurality of sensor nodes being provided with a Radar sensor (200) and a video sensor (300); and a control system (400), arranged to receive signals from the plurality of sensor nodes and to determine if the received signals indicate a possible Man Overboard MOB event.
PERSONAL WATERCRAFT
A personal watercraft includes: a watercraft body including a boarding section on which a driver boards and a sub-boarding section on which a mounted object other than the driver is mounted; a mounted object overboard detection unit that detects that the mounted object has fallen overboard from the watercraft body; and a notification unit that performs notification control to notify the driver of the falling overboard through a specific control target when the mounted object overboard detection unit detects that the mounted object has fallen overboard.
Lanyard system and method for a marine vessel
A method and system for controlling a marine vessel is configured to operate a lanyard system to detect at least one fob worn by an individual present on the marine vessel and determine that a missing fob of the at least one fob is no longer detected, wherein the missing fob is either an operator fob or a passenger fob. A man overboard event is generated based on the missing fob, wherein the man overboard event is an operator overboard event if the missing fob includes the operator fob or a passenger overboard event if the missing fob is the passenger fob. One or more search assistance functions are automatically activated based on the man overboard event, wherein the search assistance functions activated depend on whether the man overboard event is the operator overboard event or the passenger overboard event.
