Illuminated lifesaving jacket
The illuminated lifesaving jacket is a personal floatation device compromising LED lighting, a cell phone pocket, a control unit, locator module, and a jacket battery pack. The LED lighting may increase the visibility of the jacket and may be activated by the control unit based upon input from a manual switch, a water-activated switch, or an application program running on a personal communication device such as a smart phone. The personal communication device may be held in the waterproof cell phone pocket and may wirelessly link to the control unit. The control unit may acquire location information from the locator module and may transmit messages that include location information to authorities in an effort to seek help. The jacket battery pack may provide electrical energy for the control unit, locator module, and personal communication device. A wristband may provide additional LED lighting to enhance visibility.
Backpack system with improved detection of catastrophic events
A modular backpack system includes a personal floatation harness having an automatic inflator mechanism and pack attachment features; and a plurality of pack modules selectively attachable to the pack attachment features to form a floatation-enhanced backpack. Each one of the plurality of pack modules may further include a different arrangement for accommodating accessories. For example, the different arrangements may include arrangements having different compartments. Other arrangements may have different attachment features. The different attachment features may include different lash points. The backpack module may be one taken from the list of: a pack adapted for kayaking with a waterproof compartment and lash points for ready access to accessories; a pack adapted for sailing with waterproof and non-waterproof compartments; a pack adapted for hiking with multiple compartments for tools and supplies; and a pack adapted for everyday carry (EDC) having multiple quick-access compartments for carrying everyday tools.
Emergency device to be worn by divers
It is described an emergency device (100) for divers comprising a watertight case (101) structured to assume a submerged position and an emerged position. The watertight case includes: a depth sensor (102) configured to determine a depth value associated with the submerged position assumed by the emergency device when a user activates an emergency procedure; a positioning device (103) configured to determine a geographic position, including latitude and longitude, assumed by the emergency device (100) in the emerged position; a GSM or satellite telephone transmitter/receiver (104) configured to transmit an emergency message comprising said depth value and said geographic position.
Autonomous people rescue system for vessels and shipwrecks
This invention refers to an innovative, original and convenient Autonomous System for Rescue operations, which works on the vessel, program controlled by a software and hardware platform rescuing people overboard in an autonomous manner. The System starts operating from the moment the person falls off the deck into the water. From the moment the wrist band on the passenger makes contact with the water, it sends out a radio frequency signal with two orders: to activate an alarm and to notify a robot to start rescue operation, and it brings it to the vessel with no intervention from people, i.e., in an intelligent and autonomous manner.
Detection system for detecting moving object crossing border and method thereof
A detection system for detecting a moving object crossing a border includes a sense device and a positioning device. The sense device is disposed on a moving object and has a first position module. The first position module generates a first position signal based on the sense device. The positioning device is signally connected with the sense device and has a calculating module, a second position module, a detecting module, and a warning module. The positioning device receives the first position signal. The calculating module sets a border. The second position module generates a second position signal based on the positioning device. The detecting module determines if the sense device is out of the border based on the first position signal and the second position signal. The warning module sends out a warning signal.
Fender with Enhanced Functionality
Examples disclosed herein relate to a fender for a watercraft where the fender passenger safety device includes a three dimensional body. The three dimensional body includes a top area, a bottom area, a middle area, and an internal area. In addition, the fender passenger safety device includes a tunnel area where the tunnel area includes a tunnel entrance formed onto the middle area. The internal tunnel area is located inside of the internal area. In one example, a safety device located on the top area, the bottom area, or the middle area allows a person to bind to the fender passenger safety device.
Backpack System With Improved Detection of Catastrophic Events
A mobile device is interoperable with a backpack system having a case body defining an interior cavity in which to carry articles and an exterior shell, having a mass and volume when fully loaded with articles suitable for an individual to carry; an inflatable floatation aid fixed to the exterior shell; and, an inflator in communication with the inflatable floatation aid, for inflation of the inflatable floatation aid. The mobile device includes: a locator beacon, including a communications transmitter capable of signaling a remote party and a geo-locating apparatus; sensors producing sensor outputs indicative of plural environmental parameters of the mobile device; and a processor having outputs for communication with the locator beacon in the mobile device and the inflator in the backpack system.
REMOTELY CONTROLLABLE RESCUE VESSEL
A remotely controllable rescue vessel is provided that includes: a rigid lower hull portion; an inflatable upper hull portion coupled to the rigid lower portion; and a remotely controllable motor, configurable to drive the remotely controllable rescue vessel according to remote instructions.
