ENGINE SPEED CONTROL DEVICE FOR VESSEL
20220024552 · 2022-01-27 ·

An engine speed control device for a vessel in which a plurality of outboard motors are mounted on a hull, has a control unit that performs control, on the basis of an operation of one switch, so as to set engines of the outboard motors to a synchronous mode in which the engines have an identical engine speed, wherein the control unit determines in advance an engine to serve as a reference among the engines of the outboard motors, and automatically changes the mode to the synchronous mode in which the engine speeds of engines other than the reference engine become equal to the engine speed of the reference engine when all the engines satisfy a condition to transit to the synchronous mode.

An outboard drive assembly for a work boat is provided. In embodiments, an outboard drive assembly includes a lower outdrive assembly including: a housing extending between a first and end a second end and having a motor housed therein; a propeller mounted to the first end of the housing; first and second fins extending horizontally from opposing side portions of the motor housing; a third fin extending vertically from the housing; respective cutting blades attached to respective end portions of each of the first, second and third fins adjacent the propeller; an upper outdrive assembly including mounting brackets configure to connect the upper drive assembly to a deck of a work boat; and a drive arm assembly pivotally mounted to the lower outdrive assembly at a first end of the drive arm assembly and mounted to the upper outdrive assembly at a second end of the drive arm assembly.

Watercraft and watercraft control system

A watercraft control system is configured to track and follow a lead watercraft cruising ahead of a host watercraft. The watercraft control system basically includes a detector and a digital controller. The watercraft control system can be integrated with a main watercraft control system of the host watercraft, or can be an add-on watercraft control system that supplements the main watercraft control system of the host watercraft. The detector is configured to detect the lead watercraft in front of the host watercraft. The digital controller is configured to communicate with the detector's processor to receive a detection signal from the detector. The digital controller is configured to output at least one control command related to a propulsion direction of the host watercraft and a propulsion force of the host watercraft to at least a propulsion unit of the host watercraft to track and follow the lead watercraft.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING POSITION OF A MARINE DRIVE

A method of controlling a marine drive on a marine vessel includes receiving a trim position instruction to adjust a trim position of the marine drive and determining an allowable steering angle range based on the trim positon instruction or adjusted trim positon of the marine drive. A trim actuator is controlled to adjust the trim position of the marine drive based on the trim position instruction and a steering actuator is controlled to automatically adjust steering positon of the marine drive to remain within the allowable steering range.

Staggered vessel transom for attachment of multiple engines
11167829 · 2021-11-09 ·

A staggered engine mount transom that extends from the primary engine mount transom of a boat for increasing the number of outboard engines mounted on a boat. A transom extension can include one or more supports for a transom section to which the outboard engines can be mounted. Engines mounted on a transom and a transom section can have overlapping operating widths and closer propeller center lines of propulsion. A transom extension can also have one or more engine pods in which outboard engines can be mounted so that the engine operating widths further overlap and the center lines of propulsion are even closer together. This allows more outboard engines to be mounted on a boat than can be mounted on just a single plane transom.

SYSTEM FOR AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING WATERCRAFT

A system includes a data communication module, a position sensor, and a controller. The position sensor is operable to detect a position of a watercraft. The controller is configured or programmed to send at least one of functional information, trouble information, or operational information to an external computer through a data communication module. In the functional information, an automatic control function of a marine propulsion device and the position of the watercraft when the automatic control function is used are associated with each other. In the trouble information, a trouble in the marine propulsion device and the position of the watercraft when the trouble occurred are associated with each other. In the operational information, an operational pattern performed by a user for the marine propulsion device and the position of the watercraft when the operational pattern is performed are associated with each other.

System and method for controlling position of a marine drive

A method of controlling a marine drive on a marine vessel includes receiving a trim position instruction to adjust a trim position of the marine drive, receiving a steering position of the marine drive, determining an allowable steering angle range based on the trim position instruction and/or the adjusted trim position of the marine drive, and controlling a trim actuator to adjust the trim position of the marine drive based on the trim position instruction, the steering position, and the allowable steering angle range such that the steering position of the marine drive remains within the allowable steering angle range for the adjusted trim position.

MARINE VESSEL MANEUVERING SUPPORT APPARATUS, AND MARINE VESSEL

A marine vessel maneuvering support apparatus includes a controller configured or programmed to execute a lateral movement mode, in which a lateral thrust is applied to a hull, by controlling at least two propulsion devices in response to receiving an instruction to laterally move the hull. The controller is configured or programmed to control the propulsion devices so as to generate a thrust to pivot-turn the hull at least at a start of the lateral movement mode.

OSD—outboard stern drive
11753128 · 2023-09-12 · ·

An OSD-outboard stern drive boat propulsion system where single or multiple engines are positioned at boat stern inside boat outer envelope on customized-elevated subfloor and connected to outdrive unit that is attached to boat stern plate. Engine/s are positioned lower than typical outboard engine/s and higher than typical inboard engine/s. Engine compartment is covered by a customized hood and engines are easily accessible form boat floor like typical outboard engine configuration. Drive configuration is like typical sterndrive with engine/s crankshaft in horizontal position connected to outdrive via cardan joint allowing drive tilting up and down. The main purpose of using OSD would be use of one or two diesel or gasoline marine engines of existing design eliminating use of 2-6 large outboards for boats longer than 25 feet and outboard like access to engines for maintenance while using marine engines and providing much simpler boat/engine configuration.
