The device includes a manipulation mechanism for maneuvering a base into position proximate a subcutaneous port. Arms extending from the base enable the device to receive the port and substantially immobilize the port relative to the device. The manipulation mechanism also enables a user to substantially immobilize the device relative to a patient. With the subcutaneous port substantially immobilized by the device, the user has greater confidence and accuracy when inserting a needle into the port. Further, embodiments of the device provide protection to the user to prevent inadvertent sticking of the user as the needle is introduced.

Sensor-compatible overlay

A fingerprint sensor-compatible overlay material which uses anisotropic conductive material to enable accurate imaging of a fingerprint through an overlay is disclosed. The anisotropic conductive material has increased conductivity in a direction orthogonal to the fingerprint sensor, increasing the capacitive coupling of the fingerprint to the sensor surface, allowing the fingerprint sensor to accurately image the fingerprint through the overlay. Methods for forming a fingerprint sensor-compatible overlay are also disclosed.

A finger-splinting sheath device is provided for use as a self-treatment aid in assisting a bowel in a patient suffering from complications of pelvic organ prolapse, namely rectocele. The finger-splinting sheath device generally includes a monolithic molded body including a flange-element, and a sheath-element having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the sheath-element is coupled to the flange-element at the proximal end and is closed at the distal end. The sheath-element generally includes an elliptical cross-section configured to receive two-fingers therein, wherein the sheath-element functions to splint the two fingers during use. A method for using the device includes inserting the device with two fingers within the sheath-element into the vagina and applying pressure to the vaginal walls to assist a bowel movement.

INNER BITE RING

Provided is an inner bite ring which can be used by wearing a glove on a finger wearing the inner bite ring, is unlikely to damage the glove, and does not damage tissue around an oral cavity or teeth even if it is bitten from over the glove, for maintaining an opening and guarding the finger. An inner bite ring 1 has: a tubular portion 2 into which a finger of a human hand is inserted, the glove being worn on the inner bite ring 1 worn on the finger; a soft elastic portion 3 coated on an outer periphery of the tubular portion 2; and a strap portion 4 connected to a root portion 2b side of the tubular portion 2 and hung on a wrist or an adjacent finger. The tubular portion 2 is closed at its tip, and has a vent hole 6 formed on a tip portion side to communicate an inside and an outside of the tubular portion 2.
