Recreational watercraft with open platform passenger deck
11148758 · 2021-10-19 · ·

The present disclosure describes recreational watercraft that provide a ballast system and an open platform passenger deck. An example is an aluminum hull including a ballast system to regulate displacement by the recreational watercraft and an open platform passenger deck as an integral upper surface to the aluminum hull. Multiple sides, continuous from the aluminum hull, include a stern side, a bow side, a port side, and a starboard side that surround a perimeter of the open platform passenger deck. An inboard power plant is located within a stern portion of the aluminum hull to propel the recreational watercraft.

BRACKET FOR MOUNTING A THRUSTER TO A BOAT
20210316819 · 2021-10-14 ·

A bracket for mounting a thruster to a boat includes horizontal and vertical members disposed at right angles to each other. The horizontal member includes an enclosure which contains a lamp. A thruster is mounted to the horizontal member, and the vertical member is affixed to the transom of a boat. The thruster is therefore held in spaced-apart relation to the boat, optimizing the flow of water through the thruster, and minimizing the amount of space required, on the transom, for installation of components. The horizontal member, and one of the connectors holding the vertical member to the boat, are hollow, allowing wires to extend into the horizontal member, to provide power to the thruster and the lamp.

Stern drives having breakaway lower gearcase

A stern drive is for propelling a marine vessel in water. The stern drive has an upper drive unit with a lower mounting surface; a lower gearcase coupled to the lower mounting surface and a trailing end surface that is angled relative to the lower mounting surface; and a propeller shaft extending forwardly from the lower gearcase and being configured to rotate a propeller for pulling the marine vessel in the water. The upper drive unit and the lower gearcase are configured such that when a forward side of the lower gearcase impacts an underwater obstruction, the lower gearcase is caused to pivot relative to the upper drive unit until the trailing end surface impacts the lower mounting surface, which thereby causes the lower gearcase to completely uncouple from the upper drive unit.

TOOL FOR REMOVING AND INSTALLING BEARINGS AND METHOD FOR CHANGING A BEARING
20210190256 · 2021-06-24 ·

A tool for disassembling and assembling bearings which support an engine mounting frame of an internal combustion engine, is mounted on a base, a bearing having opposing metal securing plates and a resiliently deformable damping element extending between the securing plates, said tool comprising opposing, parallel mounting plates, each mounting plate being mountable on a securing plate of a bearing to be dissassembled or assembled, and comprising a turnbuckle, via which the opposing mounting plates are operatively connected.

Airboat trim apparatus and method

A trim system for an airboat having a hull and a deck comprises an engine support carriage elevated from the deck and having a first end pivotably mounted to the deck via a rigid frame, and at least one remotely operated hydraulic ram with each including a first end braced upon the deck or an intervening structure and a second end coupled to a free moving second end of the engine support carriage opposite the first end. In a method of adjusting trim on an airboat, during operation of an engine mounted to the engine support carriage, a thrust line of the engine is selectively changed by remotely causing the at least one linearly actuated lift to selectively extend and retract.
