A low emission submersible engine is part of a multipurpose aquatic device, such as an aquatic craft or an electrical generator. A propulsion system having a propeller is coupled to the submersible engine to produce a swimmer propulsion machine and a generator is attached to the engine to produce an electrical generator. The submersible engine receives air from a snorkel that extends up above a water line The aquatic device has a fuel reservoir which may receive liquid fuel or may receive a fuel cylinder. Floatation chambers keep the aquatic device afloat with the engine submerged. The exhaust assembly and exhaust ports from the engine may also be submerged and the exhaust ports may provide additional thrust. A propulsion system housing integrates the drive shaft and propeller, clutch coupler, exhaust conduits and water flow conduits and is detachably attachable to the engine.

A method for charging an auxiliary voltage source that provides power for at least one additional component, the additional component being in addition to an electric drive that is powered by a main voltage, is described. The method includes electrically connecting a protection and/or control circuit to the main voltage source via a DC-to-DC converter configured for power supply, and to the auxiliary voltage source via a reverse blocking valve. The method further includes electrically connecting the main voltage source to the auxiliary voltage source via a charging device. The method still further includes charging the auxiliary voltage source via the main voltage source.

An outdrive flexible shield apparatus has a rectangular frame and a rectangular flexible liner. The frame has a front pole, a left back corner, and a right back corner. The front pole of the rectangular frame has a left segment and a right segment, the right segment separated by a gap from the left segment. A circular opening is medially disposed within a front surface of the rectangular flexible liner. The rectangular flexible liner is attachable to the frame. A left rope attaches the back left corner of the apparatus to a boat and another right rope attaches the back right corner of the apparatus to the boat. A dissolvable chlorine cartridge is removably disposable within the cavity of the substantially rectangular flexible liner.
