FIRE RETARDANT ABSORPTION MAT
20220332099 · 2022-10-20 · ·

A floor mat for use in a commercial aircraft application includes a base carpet-like section made of a fire rated material. A backing film layer is mounted to a bottom of the base carpet-like section. This mounting may be made, for example, using an intervening adhesive layer or through a direct attachment using an inherent adhesive property of the backing film layer. The backing film layer (and any adhesive layer that is used) is made of a fire retardant material. The base carpet-like section is porous and absorbent, and the backing film layer provides a moisture barrier as well as an anti-slip feature.

METHODS OF FORMING A DRY FLOOR ASSEMBLY
20230071212 · 2023-03-09 · ·

A method of forming a dry floor assembly includes cleaning an upper layer with methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) prior to bonding the upper layer to a carbon wicking layer. Said cleaning removes release agent from the upper layer. The method also includes bonding the upper layer to the carbon wicking layer after said cleaning.

AIRCRAFT HOLD COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE LONGITUDINALLY DISPOSED AND TRANSVERSELY MOVABLE CABINET, AND METHOD FOR THE ARRANGEMENT OF SAID HOLD
20230131705 · 2023-04-27 ·

A hold of an aircraft includes at least two system cabinets, one cabinet is disposed longitudinally. The longitudinal cabinet is movable between a use position along a wall of the fuselage and a maintenance position, in which it is spaced apart from the wall of the fuselage. This arrangement makes it easier to access the system cabinets installed in the hold of the aircraft by the operators arranging the hold or carrying out maintenance on the cabinets.

Variable waterline for horizontal pressure deck

A pressure deck system for a fuselage of an aircraft. The pressure deck system comprises a first sloping outboard pressure panel, a first longitudinal stiffener connected to the first sloping outboard pressure panel, a second sloping outboard pressure panel opposite the first sloping outboard pressure panel, a second longitudinal stiffener connected to the second sloping outboard pressure panel, pressure panels between the first sloping outboard pressure panel and the second sloping outboard pressure panel and forming the an upper barrier of a wheel well, longitudinal beams connected to the pressure panels and supporting a cabin floor of the fuselage, and a sloping pressure deck connecting a number of these components to the rear spar of the center wing box. A waterline of the pressure deck system is de-coupled from a side-of-body waterline in the fuselage.

Aircraft fuselage and module for absorbing crash energy in a lower deck, used for transporting passengers, of an aircraft
11628921 · 2023-04-18 · ·

An aircraft fuselage for transporting passengers in a lower deck, the fuselage having a longitudinal axis and interior compartment, having an intermediate floor fastened to the fuselage structure, extending through the interior compartment and dividing the interior compartment into an upper deck and a lower deck, having a support device for supporting the intermediate floor on the fuselage structure. The support device is fastened to the intermediate floor and by an opposite end in the lower deck to the fuselage structure. The support device has a concave form and has an energy absorption element such that in a crash of an underside of the fuselage undergoes a defined plastic deformation and absorbs a defined amount of kinetic energy. In a crash, the fuselage structure is, at the underside of the aircraft fuselage, deformed at most to such an extent that a minimum height between a seat surface of passenger seats in the lower deck and the intermediate floor is not undershot.
