Airstair system with deployable upper step
Airstair systems and associated methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, the airstair comprises a deployable upper step, a primary deployment device and a secondary deployment device. The upper step is movable between a stowed configuration when a door of the aircraft is closed and a deployed configuration when the door is open. The primary deployment device resiliently biases the upper step toward the deployed configuration. The secondary deployment device is movable in coordination with a movement of the door and configured to drive the deployable upper step toward the deployed configuration during opening of the door and during a failure of the primary deployment device.
Double-deck airplane
A double-deck airplane that facilitates passenger embarking/disembarking and cargo loading/unloading operations in order to maximize the number of flight missions carried out in a given time. The floors of its upper and lower decks are planar surfaces extending continuously inside the fuselage in at least the inner space of the fuselage intended for the payload; the lower deck is located at a height from the ground that allows carrying out passenger embarking/disembarking via equipment incorporated in the airplane without any external airport ground equipment; passenger and/or cargo compartments are distributed on the upper and/or lower decks; and the lifting structure is disposed in the airplane in a manner that none of its components crosses the upper and lower decks.

ENTRY HANDLE
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an entry assist system for an aircraft doorway. The system includes a securement member configured to be secured into at least one aperture of the doorway, a handle portion pivotally attached to the securement member, and a releasable locking feature for locking the handle portion. A mounting device is used for securing the stationary member to an existing aperture in the doorway and for removing the entry assist system when no longer needed. The securement member forms a stationary portion along an inner edge of the doorway. The handle portion includes a hub configured for rotating about an axle that is coupled to an interface of the securement member. The hub and interface interconnect to form the releasable locking feature for locking the handle in a collapsed position adjacent the securement member or in an extended position protruding outside the doorway.
ENTRY HANDLE
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an entry assist system for an aircraft doorway. The system includes a securement member configured to be secured into at least one aperture of the doorway, a handle portion pivotally attached to the securement member, and a releasable locking feature for locking the handle portion. A mounting device is used for securing the stationary member to an existing aperture in the doorway and for removing the entry assist system when no longer needed. The securement member forms a stationary portion along an inner edge of the doorway. The handle portion includes a hub configured for rotating about an axle that is coupled to an interface of the securement member. The hub and interface interconnect to form the releasable locking feature for locking the handle in a collapsed position adjacent the securement member or in an extended position protruding outside the doorway.
DOORS FOR AN EASY ACCESS TO THE PRESSURIZED HOUSING OF A FLYING WING, FROM THE TRAILING EDGE
An aircraft of flying wing or blended wing body type comprising, for access to a pressurized housing, a non-pressurized door in the trailing edge of the aircraft and a pressurized door on the pressurized housing. The distance between the center of the pressurized door and a plane of symmetry of the aircraft is less than or equal to the distance between the center of the non-pressurized door and the plane of symmetry, and the pressurized door is outside a rear wall of the pressurized housing or upstream of a rear extremum point of the housing in the absence of any such rear wall. This aircraft has optimum aerodynamic performance and the circulation of passengers between the pressurized housing and the exterior of the aircraft may be fluid.
DOORS FOR AN EASY ACCESS TO THE PRESSURIZED HOUSING OF A FLYING WING, FROM THE TRAILING EDGE
An aircraft of flying wing or blended wing body type comprising, for access to a pressurized housing, a non-pressurized door in the trailing edge of the aircraft and a pressurized door on the pressurized housing. The distance between the center of the pressurized door and a plane of symmetry of the aircraft is less than or equal to the distance between the center of the non-pressurized door and the plane of symmetry, and the pressurized door is outside a rear wall of the pressurized housing or upstream of a rear extremum point of the housing in the absence of any such rear wall. This aircraft has optimum aerodynamic performance and the circulation of passengers between the pressurized housing and the exterior of the aircraft may be fluid.
APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING A PERSON ADJACENT TO ANAIRCRAFT ENGINE
Apparatuses for supporting a person adjacent to an aircraft engine having a cowl door with an inner surface are provided. In one example, an apparatus includes a body configured as a step seat for supporting the person. The body includes a first riser section extending generally upward to a first upper riser portion. A first tread section extends generally horizontally from the first upper riser portion to a first aft tread edge portion. A stiffener, filler section extends at an incline from the first aft tread edge portion to a distal stiffener, filler edge portion. A second riser section extends generally upward from the distal stiffener, filler edge portion to a second upper riser portion. A second tread section extends generally horizontally from the second upper riser portion to a second aft tread edge portion.
Fully faired landing gear with integrated step
An aircraft landing gear assembly has a longitudinally elongated frame coupled to a lower portion of a fuselage of an aircraft, the frame being capable of supporting at least a portion of the weight of the aircraft. A fairing encloses substantially all of the frame. An optional integrated step can be carried by the frame, and a longitudinally elongated aperture would be formed in the fairing adjacent the step. The step allows a user to place a foot into the aperture and onto the step. An optional door can cover the aperture, and an optional secondary step can be carried by the door.
MODULAR DEPLOYABLE EXTERNAL PASSENGER SYSTEM FOR AIRCRAFT
An embodiment is a system including an external passenger seating unit comprising at least one seat; and a translation mechanism for translating the external passenger seating unit between a first position in which the external passenger seating unit is stowed in a payload bay of an aircraft and a second position in which the external passenger seating unit is deployed external to the aircraft for accommodating at least one passenger.
