20220144408 · 2022-05-12 ·

An attachment housing is for fastening to an exterior side of an aircraft. The attachment housing has a functional compartment. The functional compartment is divided in two, and has a ventilation compartment and a protective compartment. A surrounding wall is configured to separate the ventilation compartment from an environment. The surrounding wall has at least one ventilation opening for air exchange between the ventilation compartment and the environment. A dividing wall is arranged between the ventilation compartment and the protective compartment. The dividing wall has at least one passage opening for air exchange between the ventilation compartment and the protective compartment. The passage opening is configured to counter act a penetration of water, moisture, or particles into the protective compartment.

An insulation attachment system for an aircraft includes a first insulation blanket including a first tab at an aft end of the first insulation blanket and a second insulation blanket including a second tab at an aft end of the second insulation blanket. The system also includes a third insulation blanket and a first attachment component disposed on an outboard forward portion of the second insulation blanket and clasping a first frame member of the aircraft such that the first tab and the second insulation blanket are attached to the first frame member. The system also includes a second attachment component disposed on an outboard forward portion of the third insulation blanket and clasping a second frame member of the aircraft that is aft of the first frame member such that the second tab and the third insulation blanket are attached to the second frame member.

Outflow valve assembly including sound absorption and aircraft including the same

Outflow valve assemblies for an aircraft, aircraft including an outflow valve assembly, and methods for installing an outflow valve assembly on an aircraft, are provided. In one example, an outflow valve assembly includes a louver that is movably disposed to at least partially cover an opening formed through a fuselage on an aircraft. A motor is coupled to the louver and is configured to move the louver between a closed position to obstruct fluid communication through the opening and an open position to allow fluid communication through the opening between inside and outside of the aircraft. A sound absorptive panel is disposed adjacent to the opening to attenuate noise that is generated when the louver is in the open position.

Anti-resonant panels

Noise insulation may be provided by an anti-resonant panel that includes a base panel including a base panel core material and two base panel face sheets, where each of the two base panel face sheets is adjacent to an opposite side of the base panel core material. The anti-resonant panel further includes at least one stiffener-member positioned along the base panel in a defined area of the base panel, where the defined area is less than a full area of the base panel. The stiffener-member includes a stiffener-member core having a top surface, a bottom surface in contact with the base panel, a plurality of cells having walls that extend from the top surface to the bottom surface, and a stiffener-member face sheet that is seamlessly integrated with the walls of the plurality of cells along the top surface.

Hypersonic Aircraft Window System

A system and method for sending signals at temperatures associated with hypersonic speeds. A window system in a hypersonic aircraft is provided. The window system comprises a transmissive window in an aeroshell of the hypersonic aircraft, a thermal seal, a sensor, and a sensor housing assembly enclosing the sensor. The transmissive window comprises a facesheet and insulating material adjacent to the facesheet. The thermal seal surrounds a perimeter of the facesheet and seals the facesheet to the aeroshell. The window system is radio-frequency transparent at temperatures associated with hypersonic speeds. The window system is configured to operate at an insertion loss of less than one decibel at the hypersonic speeds.

Augmented reality system for pilot and passengers

An aircraft having an augmented reality flight control system integrated with and operable from the pilot seat and an associated pilot headgear unit, wherein the flight control system is supplemented by flight-assisting artificial intelligence and geo-location systems is presented. The present disclosure includes an augmented reality flight control system incorporating real-world objects with virtual elements to provide relevant data to a pilot during aircraft flight. A translucent substrate is disposed in the pilot's field of view such that the pilot can see therethrough, and observe virtual elements displayed on the substrate. The system includes a headgear that is worn by the pilot. A flight assistance module is configured to receive data related to the aircraft and provide predictive assistance to the pilot during flight based on the received data based in part on a pilot profile having preferences related to the pilot.
