Intubation drape
A medical drape which is positioned over the head and upper torso of a patient is disclosed which includes a head flap, a head portion, a torso portion, and two oppositely disposed arm portions. The head flap is of a sufficient length to extend about the backside of the patient's head. The head portion includes oppositely disposed side wings which aid in covering the head of a patient. Each arm portion includes an access slot extending through the arm portion.
Latch release for surgical instrument
A surgical instrument includes a proximal control mechanism having an instrument control surface. The instrument control surface has two openings through which two resilient latch arms can be inserted to engage a fixed latch structure contained within the proximal control mechanism. The fixed latch structure provides two lead-in ramps that force the resilient latch arms onto locking surfaces. The resilient latch arms are contained entirely within the proximal control mechanism when engaged. Inward forces can be applied to two buttons to apply an outward force on the resilient latch arms and release them from the locking surfaces of the fixed latch structure. Each of the two buttons is accessible from one of two opposite outside surfaces of the proximal control mechanism.
INTERFACE STRUCTURE
An interface structure for detachably interfacing a surgical robot arm to a surgical instrument, the interface structure comprising a main body; and a drive transfer element comprising a first portion and a second portion, the first portion being releasably engageable with a portion of the surgical robot arm and the second portion being releasably engageable with a portion of the surgical instrument; the drive transfer element being movable relative to the main body so as to enable transfer of drive between the surgical robot arm and the surgical instrument.
Surgical instrument comprising synchronized drive systems
A surgical instrument for treating the tissue of a patient is disclosed. The surgical instrument comprises a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, and an end effector. The surgical instrument further comprises a motorized drive system, a first drive system configured to perform a first end effector drive motion, wherein the first drive system is operably coupled to the motorized drive system, and a second drive system configured to perform a second end effector drive motion, wherein the second drive system is operably coupled to the motorized drive system. The surgical instrument further comprises synchronizing means for repetitively sequencing the first end effector drive motion and the second end effector drive motion.
Determining robotic surgical assembly coupling status
Various connection detection assemblies for a robotic surgical assembly are disclosed. The robotic surgical assembly can include a carriage, a carriage housing releasably connectable to the carriage, a motor housing configured to house a motor pack for driving the surgical instrument, wherein the motor housing is releasable connectable to the carriage housing, and an interface module configured to releasably secure the robotic surgical assembly to the surgical instrument. The robotic surgical assembly can also include a series of interconnections defined by mating portions of the carriage, the carriage housing, the motor housing, and the interface module. A control circuit configured to detect a fully engaged configuration of the mating portions based on the interconnections.
Sterile barriers for medical devices
Sterile barriers or sterile drapes that can be used with medical devices, including hand-held or self-supported X-ray equipment, are described in this application. In particular, this application describes sterile drapes that can be used with a medical device, the drape comprising a closed end portion, a middle portion with a size sufficient to enclose a part of the medical device being used near a patient, and an open end portion, the end portion configured to be closed by a user once the middle portion encloses the part of the medical device being used near a patient, wherein the sterile drape creates a sterile barrier around substantially the entire medical device once the open end is closed. Using the sterile drape allows the medical device, such as a hand-held or self-supported X-ray device, to be used in a medical procedure that requires a sterile field near the patient without disrupting that sterile field. Surgical drape
A surgical drape adapted to overlay a patient including an opaque sheet having superior region extending to a cephalad end with a fenestration configured to surround a surgical region of the patient, and an inferior region extending from the inferior aspect of the fenestration to a caudal end and having a transparent sheet joined to the patient facing side of the opaque sheet proximate the inferior aspect of the fenestration between opposite opaque sheet first and second edges allowing the inferior portion of the opaque sheet drawn away from the transparent sheet to allow a surgeon visual access to the patient through the transparent sheet.
Surgical drape for use in a cesarean delivery
A surgical drape may include one or more of the following: a main portion, the main portion having a surgical opening, the surgical opening being configured to provide surgical access to a first target patient site; a window located adjacent to the surgical opening, the window including a transparent panel such that the window provides visual access to a second target patent site; and a flap having at least one edge secured to the main portion, where the flap includes a second edge that is movable such that the flap selectively covers the window.
Protective articles comprising an adhesive and cohesive thermoset viscoelastic polymer
A viscoelastic material comprises a unique adhesive and cohesive thermoset viscoelastic polymer coated onto a flexible substrate. The polymer can be formed by curing an uncured polymer mix derived from a thermosetting reaction media of a carefully balanced ratio of isocyanate prepolymer, polyether diols, polyether triols and organic plasticizers. The viscoelastic material can exhibit viscoelastic, adhesive, cohesive, releasability, cleansability and antimicrobial properties. In some aspects, the viscoelastic material can be fabricated into a personal protective article. In one embodiment, the personal protective article is a footwear cover.
SHRINK STERILE DRAPE AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A shrink sterile drape according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a first portion; a second portion configured to shrink relative to the first portion in the presence of heat; and an optical window disposed in the second portion and configured to permit passage of light therethrough.
