FEMORAL DRAPE
A sterile femoral drape intended to be placed over a surgical patient lying on an operating table to isolate the patient during the surgical procedure, the drape comprising a top sheet of bio-impermeable material of a length and width greater than a conventional operating table such that the top sheet fully encompasses the patient and drapes over the lateral side edges and the bottom (foot) edge of the table. Femoral access holes located proximate to the patient's groin are provided to allow access to the patient's femoral artery during heart catheterizations or other surgical procedures. The drape comprises left and right arm pockets formed underneath the bio-impermeable sheet into which the patient's respective left and right arms are inserted. The patient's arms being positioned within and supported within the arm pockets, fully isolates the patient's arms and hands from the femoral access site, thereby assuring that the patient's hands do not contaminate the femoral access site.
Methods and materials for reducing the risk of infections
This document relates to methods and materials for reducing the risk of infection after a shoulder surgery or medical procedure. For example, this document relates to methods and materials for using a topical composition containing clindamycin or erythromycin to reduce the risk of or to prevent infection associated with shoulder surgeries or medical procedures.
Sterile drape for two tiered hospital instrument table
The present disclosure describes a draping system for a two-tiered hospital instrument back table can be used to quickly and conveniently create a sterile field. The system has a drape that is a single piece of material, desirably a film that may be clear. The single piece of material has other material attached to it on its upper side or surface in areas that generally coincide with the two upper surfaces of the table when the drape is installed on the table, and that has a lower coefficient of friction than the single piece of material. The drape may be held in place with a continuous or discontinuous band that encircles the upper tier or the upper tier support posts.
STERILE ADAPTER DRIVE DISKS FOR USE IN A ROBOTIC SURGICAL SYSTEM
Generally, a sterile adapter for use in robotic surgery may include a frame configured to be interposed between a tool driver and a surgical tool, a plate assembly coupled to the frame, and at least one rotatable coupler supported by the plate assembly and configured to communicate torque from an output drive of the tool driver to an input drive of the surgical tool.
SIGNALING OF STERILE ADAPTER AND TOOL ATTACHMENT FOR USE IN A ROBOTIC SURGICAL SYSTEM
Generally, a system for use in a robotic surgical system may be used to determine an attachment state between a tool driver, sterile adapter, and surgical tool of the system. The system may include sensors used to generate attachment data corresponding to the attachment state. The attachment state may be used to control operation of the tool driver and surgical tool. In some variations, one or more of the attachment states may be visually output to an operator using one or more of the tool driver, sterile adapter, and surgical tool. In some variations, the tool driver and surgical tool may include electronic communication devices configured to be in close proximity when the surgical tool is attached to the sterile adapter and tool driver.
DISPOSABLE MEDICAL DEVICE COVERS
A disposable cover for PEMFT medical devices and a method of making and using the same. The disposable cover is made from a fluidproof material that protects the user and the medical device by being a barrier therebetween. The disposable cover can be adapted for strap-based medical devices and disc-based medical devices, as well as other devices.
Method of using a sterilization wrap system
A method of using a sterilization wrap system including a permeable material having barrier properties and having a first surface and a second opposing surface, the exterior panel being substantially opaque or having a first level of translucence, and an interior panel including a permeable material having barrier properties and having a first surface and a second opposing surface, the interior panel having a level of translucence that is higher than the translucence of the exterior panel, the panels being joined together over at least a portion of their surfaces. Also disclosed is inspection of the sterilization wrap system for exterior panel breaches by looking for light passing through a panel facing the viewer.
Surgical C-section drape with tunnel
Disclosed is a surgical drape configured to selectively allow or block a patient's view of a surgical field, as is desired particularly in Caesarean section operations. Generally, the surgical drape includes a mainsheet and a screen connected to the mainsheet. The mainsheet is equipped with a surgical fenestration and the screen is equipped with a screen fenestration and a flexible tunnel material forming a tunnel between a surgeon-facing side of the screen and a patient-facing side of the screen. The drape is equipped with at least one flap that covers the screen fenestration during the surgical procedure. Upon birth, the infant is passed through the tunnel to greet the mother, and a flap is then closed to cover the screen fenestration.
SURGICAL BIB, METHOD, AND KIT
Disclosed are a surgical bib and kit useful in assisting a surgeon in locating and orienting the situs of a surgical incision. Generally, the surgical drape kit includes a fenestrated surgical drape and a fenestrated surgical bib sized to cover the drape fenestration and having a bib fenestration formed therein to permit surgical access therethrough. The surgical bib includes at least one surgical guide marking that may be used to position the surgical bib on the patient with reference to one or more anatomic features of the patient.
Sterile drape with elasticized body portion for protecting a C-arm imaging machine
A sterile drape can be used to cover a C-arm imaging machine used during a medical procedure. In some configurations, the drape includes a detector body cover, a C-arm body cover, and an elastic banding. The detector body cover can be positioned around a detector of the imaging machine. The C-arm body cover can include a tunnel portion that is positioned to surround a portion of the C-arm extending away from the detector. The elastic banding can extend about a perimeter of a junction between the detector body cover and the C-arm body cover. The elastic banding can provide a biasing force that draws the junction between the detector body cover and the C-arm body cover closed.
