METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REGULATION OF SPEED AND POSITION OF A ROTOR IN WING-BORNE FLIGHT
A rotor-regulation system includes a rotor that includes a plurality of rotor blades, a rotor mast operable to drive the rotor, and a rotor disc-brake system operable to modulate rotation of the rotor mast.
Unmanned aerial vehicle and protective outer cage therefor
Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) including a flight propulsion system and a support system coupled to the flight propulsion system, the support system comprising a protective outer cage configured to surround the flight propulsion system, wherein the outer cage comprises a plurality of cage frame modules that are manufactured as separate components and assembled together to form at least a portion of the outer cage configured to surround the flight propulsion system.
SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM OF AIR VEHICLE FOR URBAN AIR MOBILITY
A seat control system of an air vehicle for urban air mobility (UAM)UAM is provided. When the air vehicle turns strongly to one side during rotor failure of the air vehicle for UAM, side pads and air cells prevent the head and the body of a passenger seated on a seat in the air vehicle from being sharply tilted to the one side. Additionally, air bags of the side pads prevent and cushion impact energy applied to the head of the passenger at the moment when the air vehicle lands on the ground.
ROTARY WING AIRCRAFT WITH A FIREWALL ARRANGEMENT
A rotary wing aircraft with a fuselage that forms an aircraft interior region, the fuselage comprising an upper primary skin that separates the aircraft interior region from an aircraft upper deck arranged above the fuselage, wherein the aircraft upper deck comprises an engine accommodating region with a firewall arrangement, the engine accommodating region accommodating at least one aircraft engine within the firewall arrangement, wherein the firewall arrangement comprises at least one gasket for tightening pass-through of a torque tube that connects the at least one aircraft engine to a main gear box of the rotary wing aircraft, and wherein the at least one gasket comprises at least two fire proof shells and a ring-shaped flexible fire proof bellows.
FAIL SAFETY APPARATUS OF AIR MOBILITY
A fail safety apparatus of the air mobility is provided. Locations of propeller modules are adjusted by rotation parts and length adjustment units to evenly distribute thrust of the re-located propeller modules so that the attitude of the air mobility is stabilized. In particular, when one propeller module among a plurality of propeller modules fails, the attitude of the air mobility is normalized by adjusting a location of the failed propeller module and locations of remaining normal propeller modules so that flight safety of the air mobility is secured.
System and Method for Protection Against Vortex Ring State
A system and method for protecting a rotorcraft from entering a vortex ring state, the method including monitoring a vertical speed of a rotorcraft, comparing the vertical speed to a vertical speed safety threshold, and performing vortex ring state (VRS) avoidance in response to the vertical speed exceeding the vertical speed safety threshold. The performing the VRS avoidance includes determining a power margin available from one or more engines of the rotorcraft, limiting the vertical speed of the rotorcraft in response to the power margin exceeding a threshold, and increasing a forward airspeed of the rotorcraft in response to the power margin not exceeding the threshold.
Vertical take-off and/or landing aircraft and method for controlling a flow of a fluid along a fluidic line of a vertical take-off and/or landing aircraft
A vertical take-off and/or landing aircraft comprising: a fuselage having a longitudinal axis; a pair of semi-wings protruding from the fuselage in a transversal direction with respect to the longitudinal axis; a pair of a predetermined breaking areas of the semi-wings defining respective preferred rupture sections at which the respective semi-wings are designed to break, during operation, in a controlled way moving along a preferred collapse trajectory in the event of impact; and at least one fluidic line configured to convey at least one service fluid from and/or towards at least one said semi-wing and crossing at least one of said preferred rupture sections; the aircraft comprises a self-sealing coupling movable between a first configuration in which it enables the flow of said service fluid from and/or towards the semi-wing, and a second configuration in which it prevents the above-mentioned flow and the spilling of the service fluid from the fluidic line; the self-sealing coupling is movable from the first to the second configuration via the movement of the semi-wing along the preferred collapse trajectory.
DETECTING THAT A ROTORCRAFT IS APPROACHING A VORTEX DOMAIN, AND SIGNALING THAT DETECTION
A method and a device for detecting that a rotorcraft is approaching a vortex domain. After previously determining a limit advance speed threshold and a limit vertical speed threshold defining a limit for said rotorcraft entering into a vortex domain, a predictive advance speed and a predictive vertical speed for said rotorcraft are calculated, said predictive vertical speed being calculated differently depending on the value of said instantaneous advance speed. Thereafter, said predictive advance speed and said predictive vertical speed are compared with said thresholds, which may be thresholds with hysteresis, in order to determine whether said rotorcraft is approaching a vortex domain, and if so to signal this situation to a pilot of said rotorcraft.
AUTOMATED AUTOROTATION AND PILOT AIDING SYSTEM
A method of automating entry of an aircraft into autorotation includes detecting a loss of engine power, analyzing a sensed height and sensed airspeed of the aircraft, determining an adjusted position of one or more control surfaces of the aircraft in response to the sensed height and sensed airspeed, and automatically moving the one or more control surfaces to the adjusted position.
