SINGLE-BLADE AIRCRAFT ROTOR
A rotor for a rotary wing aircraft having a single blade with a longitudinal pitch axis and that is hinge mounted on the rotary shaft for rotating the rotor, the hinge being about an axis that is transversal relative to the rotary shaft, said rotary wing describing a cone when its pitch angle is not zero, the rotor possessing a balancing flyweight device for balancing the resultant of the horizontal component of the lift force and of the rotary drag force of the blade, the device being mounted to rotate with the rotary wing about its rotary shaft and, under the effect of the centrifugal force to which it is subjected while the rotary wing is rotating, generating a horizontal force that is applied to the rotary shaft of the motor and that opposes the above-mentioned resultant with a magnitude of that is a function of the position of the flyweight(s) of the balancing device relative to the rotary shaft of the rotor.
Hydroelastic damper, and an aircraft
A hydroelastic damper comprising at least a first resilient assembly that is provided with a first inner strength member engaged at least in part in a first outer strength member, a first resilient member providing resilient return for the first outer strength member and the first inner strength member towards a rest position (POSREP). The hydroelastic damper comprises at least one hydraulic assembly provided with a first hydraulic chamber and a second hydraulic chamber in communication with each other via a connection provided in a first wall of the hydraulic assembly. A first floating piston is movable at least in translation along the longitudinal axis relative to the first inner strength member and to the first outer strength member, the first hydraulic chamber being defined at least by the first floating piston and the first wall in order to protect the first resilient member.
Main rotor damper elastomeric rod end
A damper assembly includes a housing defining at least one or more cavities. A piston is in operable communication with the housing. A rod end is operatively coupled to the piston, the rod end having at least two cartridges.
Method and system for regulation of speed and position of a rotor in wing-borne flight
A rotor-regulation system includes a rotor comprising a plurality of blades, a mechanically driven hydraulic pump, a rotor drive shaft operable to drive the rotor and the mechanically driven hydraulic pump, and a throttling valve coupled to the mechanically driven hydraulic pump and operable to modulate rotation of the rotor.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REGULATION OF SPEED AND POSITION OF A ROTOR IN WING-BORNE FLIGHT
A rotor-regulation system includes a rotor that includes a plurality of rotor blades, a rotor mast operable to drive the rotor, and a rotor disc-brake system operable to modulate rotation of the rotor mast.
Hydraulic damping valve
A damping valve for a hydraulic damper (D) comprises a valve housing comprising an inlet chamber and an outlet chamber. A housing valve seat is arranged between the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber. A valve element having a cylindrical first portion is slidably received in a cylindrical bore of the valve housing and a second portion has a valve surface for selectively engaging and disengaging the housing valve seat to allow passage of hydraulic fluid between the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber. A spring element is mounted within the valve housing for biasing the valve element into engagement with the housing valve seat. The bore of the valve housing has a closed end defining a bore chamber between an end of the first portion of the valve element and the closed end of the bore. A first passage provides fluid communication between the bore chamber and the inlet chamber.
FAST RESPONSE ROTOR SYSTEM
A rotor system comprising a hinge coupled between a rotor blade and a hub, where the hinge comprises a pivot that is angled relative to a rotor axis of rotation to enable pitch of the rotor blade to change when the rotor blade experiences lag.
COMPACT THRUST BEARING ASSEMBLIES, MECHANICAL ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING COMPACT THRUST BEARING ASSEMBLIES, AND METHODS OF PROVIDING LIMITED ROTATIONAL MOTION IN A COMPACT THRUST BEARING ASSEMBLY
Compact thrust bearing assemblies, mechanical assemblies including the compact thrust bearing assemblies, and methods of providing limited rotational motion in a compact thrust bearing assembly are disclosed herein. The thrust bearing assemblies include a plurality of rigid load-bearing structures arranged in a layered stack that defines a first end and an opposed second end. The thrust bearing assemblies further include a plurality of rotation-limiting structures configured to restrict relative rotation between adjacent pairs of rigid load-bearing structures. The thrust bearing assemblies also include a first load-receiving surface configured to receive a first thrust load and a second load-receiving surface configured to receive a second thrust load. The methods include methods of providing limited rotational motion in a thrust bearing assembly.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A CONTROL CUFF FOR A ROTOR BLADE OF A HINGE AND BEARINGLESS ROTOR
A method of manufacturing a control cuff for a rotor blade of a hinge and bearingless rotor. The method comprises at least the steps of: manufacturing an outer shell, manufacturing a stiffener member by means of an automated process, inserting the stiffener member into the outer shell, and bonding the stiffener member to the outer shell.
