Air container transport assistance tools and related systems
A tool includes a handle, an extension member extending from the handle, and an anchor assembly coupled to the extension member opposite the handle. The anchor assembly is configured for selective anchoring to a seat track of an air cargo pallet, and the anchor assembly includes at least one locking member that is movable between an unlocked position and a locked position. In particular, when the at least one locking member is in the unlocked position, the at least one locking member is configured to advance into a slot of the seat track. When the at least one tool is in the locked position, the at least one locking member is configured to mechanically interfere with at least a portion of the seat track in a manner retaining the at least one locking member in the slot, thereby anchoring the anchor assembly to the seat track.
LATCHES FOR CARGO HOLD LOADING AND STORAGE SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
In an aircraft, latches are used to secure cargo within the cargo hold of the aircraft. Such latches include a base plate configured for rigid attachment to a surface of the cargo hold, a latch head attached to the base plate and configured to prevent a movement of at least one cargo unit in a Y-direction and a Z-direction and to allow a movement of the at least one cargo unit in an X-direction, and a roller assembly attached to the base plate, opposite the latch head, and comprising at least one roller, the roller being configured to provide a vertical support to the at least one cargo unit in the Z-direction while allowing the movement of the at least one cargo unit in the X-direction.
Systems and methods for securely monitoring a shipping container for an environmental anomaly
Systems and methods are described for securely monitoring a shipping container for an environmental anomaly using elements of a wireless node network of sensor-based ID nodes disposed within the container and a command node associated with the container. The method has the command node identifying which of the ID nodes are confirmed as trusted sensors based upon a security credential specific to each of the ID nodes; monitoring only the confirmed ID nodes for sensor data broadcast those ID nodes; detecting the anomaly based upon the sensor data from at least one of the confirmed ID nodes; automatically generating an alert notification related to the detected environmental anomaly for the shipping container; and transmitting the alert notification to the external transceiver to initiate a mediation response related to the detected environmental anomaly.
Systems, apparatus, and methods for detecting an environmental anomaly and initiating an enhanced automatic response using elements of a wireless node network and using sensor data from ID nodes associated with packages and environmental threshold conditions per package
An improved system detects an environmental anomaly in a shipping container and initiates a mediation response through a generated layered alert notification. The system includes sensor-based ID nodes associated with packages within the container, and a command node mounted to the container communicating with the ID nodes and an external transceiver on a vehicle transporting the container. The command node is programmed to detect sensor data from the ID nodes; compare the sensor data to package environmental thresholds in context data related to each ID node; detect the environmental anomaly when the comparison indicates an environmental condition for at least one package exceeds its environmental threshold; responsively generate a layered alert notification identifying a mediation recipient and mediation action, and establishing a mediation response priority based upon the comparison; and transmit the layered alert notification to the transceiver unit to initiate a mediation response related to the mediation action.
AIRCRAFT FUSELAGE CONFIGURATIONS FOR AVOIDING TAIL STRIKE WHILE ALLOWING LONG PAYLOADS
A fixed-wing cargo aircraft having a kinked fuselage to extend the useable length of a continuous interior cargo bay while still meeting a tailstrike requirement is disclosed. The fuselage defines a continuous interior cargo bay along a majority of its length and a pitch axis about which the cargo aircraft rotates during takeoff while still on the ground. The fuselage includes a forward portion defining longitudinal-lateral plane of the cargo aircraft an aft portion extending aft from the pitch axis to the aft end and containing an aft region of the continuous interior cargo bay that extends along a majority of a length of the aft portion. The aft portion has a centerline extending above the forward upper surface of the aircraft.
Protection device with modulable dimensions for an equipment anchoring rail
The invention relates to a device for protecting a detachable equipment anchoring rail having adjustable dimensions, which is lockable, tamper-proof, reusable and consists of elements which are interconnected in such a way as to be secured and deployable and to provide, whatever the level of deployment thereof, all of the functions for protecting the rail against any type of aggression via a locking system.
Cargo hold component system for convertible cargo hold
A cargo hold component system for a cargo hold of an aircraft, the cargo hold component system including floor elements and fixing elements. The floor elements can at least partially be fixed releasably by the fixing elements to fixing sites provided on or in the hold floor, such that in a state fixed to the fixing sites, the floor elements support a loading of the hold with cargo containers, and that in a state in which a first group of the floor elements has been removed from the fixing sites by release of the fixing elements and a second group of the floor elements has been partially removed from the fixing sites by release of the fixing elements, the hold is sealed gas-tightly.
MODULAR CONTAINER TRANSPORT SYSTEMS
A cargo transport system comprising a spine assembly and a container assembly. The spine assembly comprises a rigid spine and a plurality of mounts arranged on the rigid spine in a plurality of mount rows. The container assembly comprises a plurality of containers and is secured to the spine assembly using at least a subset of the plurality of mounts. Each container of the plurality of containers comprises a plurality of fittings for securing the container to the spine assembly and/or another container of the container assembly. Each mount row extends along a width of the spine assembly, and the plurality of mount rows are spaced apart at regular distance intervals along a length of the spine.
System and apparatus for air flow handling in an aircraft monument
In an illustrative embodiment, an aircraft galley ducting assembly provides airflow to at least one compartment of an aircraft galley monument. The ducting assembly may include a supply air duct that provides a supply airflow path to a compartment that includes an inlet port mounted to a compartment surface. A return air duct may provide an exit airflow path for return air that has circulated throughout the compartment and includes an outlet port mounted to the compartment surface. An airflow adjustment apparatus with an airflow adjustment surface is positioned within the supply airflow path of the supply air duct or the exit airflow path of the return air duct to cause a modification of airflow properties for air passing across or through the airflow adjustment surface.
System and Method for Mounting Items to an Aircraft Floor
An item to be secured to an aircraft floor can be secured to a Load Transfer Structure that resides under the floor, via access passages provided in selected floor panels. The Load Transfer Structure transfers the weight of the item to members of the airframe, and is designed to accommodate loads during normal flight without restricting the designed movement of the airframe; however, under abnormal conditions such as a crash, the Load Transfer Structure engages members of the airframe to transfer loads thereto to secure the item.
