The test port retainer includes a test port retainer housing, a probe seal, and a liquid exclusion barrier. In one aspect, the test port retainer also includes a hydrophobic membrane mounted within the test port retainer housing. The pressure test chamber includes a manifold and a central tube. The first end of the central tube is affixed to the image capture assembly to form a pressure seal, and the second end of the central tube is coupled to the test port retainer so that the pressure test port communicates with the interior volume of the central tube through the test port retainer.

System and method for determining structural characteristics of an object

The present invention relates generally to a system and method for measuring the structural characteristics of an object. The object is subjected to an energy application processes and provides an objective, quantitative measurement of structural characteristics of an object. The system may include a device, for example, a percussion instrument, capable of being reproducibly placed against the object undergoing such measurement for reproducible positioning. The system does not include an external on/off switch or any remote on/off switching mechanism. The system also includes a disposable feature or assembly for minimizing cross-contamination between tests. The structural characteristics as defined herein may include vibration damping capacities, acoustic damping capacities, structural integrity or structural stability.

Surgical device and method

A surgical device and method for performing a controlled resection of the neck of a femur during a hip replacement procedure. The surgical device includes a body portion. The body portion has a mounting portion. The mounting portion is mountable on a femoral head of the femur to position the body portion with respect to a center of the femoral head. The body portion also has an opening for mounting the body portion on an intramedullary pin located in an intramedullary canal of the femur. The surgical device also includes a resection guide. The resection guide is adjustably locatable at a plurality of positions on the body portion for positioning a resection plane indicator of the resection guide with respect to the neck of the femur according to a measured radius/diameter of the femoral head.

Robotic surgical controls having feedback capabilities

An input control device is disclosed. The input control device can be configured to operate in different modes depending on proximity data provided by a proximity detection system. The input control device can include a feedback generator configured to generate feedback in response to the input control device switching between operational modes, the proximity data provided by the proximity detection system, and/or other conditions of the surgical procedure, robotic surgical tool, surgical site, and/or patient. The input control device can include a variable resistance assembly for resisting input control motions applied to an actuator thereof. Additionally or alternatively, the input control device can include an end effector actuator assembly for repositioning the end effector actuator based on feedback from a paired robotic surgical tool.

Surgical Systems with Intraluminal and Extraluminal Cooperative Instruments

Surgical systems are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a surgical system includes a first scope device having a first portion within an extraluminal space and a second portion positioned within an intraluminal space. The first scope device transmits image data of a first scene. A second scope device is disposed within the extraluminal space and transmits image data of a second scene. The first portion of the first instrument is present within the field of view of the second scope device to track the first scope device relative to the second scope device. A controller receives the transmitted image data of the first and second scenes, to determine a relative distance from the first scope device to the second scope device within the extraluminal space, and to provide a merged image. At least one of the first and second scope device in the merged image is a representative depiction thereof.

LAPAROSCOPIC SIZING INSTRUMENT

An apparatus includes a handle assembly, a shaft assembly, an end effector, and an auto-tensioning feature. The handle assembly includes a body and a plunger. The shaft assembly includes an external sheath that is fixed to the handle body and an interior shaft that is coupled to the plunger. The interior shaft is slidable relative to the external sheath. The end effector is configured to encompass a bodily lumen and includes a flexible member extending distally from the interior shaft. A first coupling element is fixed to the distal tip of the flexible member. A second coupling element is fixed to the external sheath. The first and second coupling elements are magnetically attracted to each other and are biased toward each other such that the flexible member defines an adjustable loop. The auto-tensioning feature is configured to bias the plunger portion proximally relative to the handle body.

METHOD FOR GENERATING FORCE FEEDBACK OF REMOTE SURGICAL DEVICE

The present invention is a method for controlling a Davinci surgical device. Firstly, controlling an operation part of a remote operation device to enter the inner of a body for executing a surgical operation. Then, an image capturing unit captures a plurality of corresponding surgical images to a control device, and the control device obtains a first torque component, a second torque component and an element action of the remote surgical device according to the surgical images to operate an output strength of the remote surgical device for further generating corresponding strength feedback by the output strength. Thus, the user can get the control status of the remote surgical device to prevent accidental iatrogenic injury from over-force and to proceed with the operation with improved accuracy.
