Computer-implemented method for space frame design, space frame construction kit and space frame
11640487 · 2023-05-02 · ·

A computer-implemented method for space frame design involves constructing a load stress map in a geometrical boundary representation of a design space, defining attachment points and load application points in the design space, creating a starting network of interconnecting lines between each two of the attachment points and load application points in the design space, assigning load application factors to each line of the starting network of interconnecting lines based on values of the load stress map, generating potential space frame designs by culling different subsets of lines of the starting network of interconnecting lines for each potential space frame design according to variable culling parameters, evaluating the potential space frame designs with respect to optimization parameters, combining the culling parameters for the potential space frame designs the performance score of which is above a predefined performance threshold, and iterating the steps of generating potential space frame designs and evaluating the potential space frame designs on the basis of the combined culling parameters.

Described a passenger vehicle having a hands-free door assembly, the hands-free door assembly includes a stationary wall portion; a door portion moveable along at least one linear translation track; at least one actuator operable to move the door portion along the at least one linear translation track; and at least one sensor positioned on at least one of the stationary wall portion or the door portion, wherein the sensor receives a hands-free input and transmits an activation signal to the at least one actuator, and wherein the at least one actuator moves the door portion along the at least one linear translation track based on receiving the activation signal.

THERMAL BARRIER CURTAIN SYSTEMS ESPECIALLY USEFUL FOR THERMALLY ISOLATING INTERIOR CABIN ZONES OF CARGO TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT

Thermal barrier curtain systems include a thermal barrier curtain and port and starboard anchor/hoist strap assemblies. The thermal barrier curtain includes forward and aft flexible air-impervious panels which are sealed about peripheral edges thereof so as to define a central thermal barrier region and separator elements positioned between and attached to the forward and aft panels within the central thermal barrier region so as to define a dead air space therebetween. Each of the port and starboard anchor/hoist strap assemblies includes an elongate strap, upper and lower attachment members positioned at opposed upper and lower ends of the elongate strap, an upper attachment loop adapted to receive and be attached to a respective connection element of the thermal barrier curtain, and an intermediate retaining loop which is adapted to receive and be attached to the lower attachment member of the anchor/hoist assembly.

AIRCRAFT INTERIOR UNIT WITH DETACHABLE PANEL
20230182902 · 2023-06-15 ·

An aircraft interior unit with a detachable panel. The aircraft interior unit comprises a wall comprising a hollow panel, and a door mounted to the wall. The door is slidable between a closed position in which it covers an entrance to the aircraft interior unit, and an open position in which the entrance to the aircraft interior unit is uncovered. In the open position, the door is at least partially disposed within the hollow panel of the wall. The hollow panel can be detached from the rest of the aircraft interior unit, and the door, when moved from the open position, can be detached from the wall.

MINI SUITE EMERGENCY EGRESS SOLUTIONS

Passenger seats having improved comfort emergency egress solutions for mini suites or other types of passenger seats that have a privacy screen, wall, or sliding door that divides the passenger seat from the aisle area or other common area. Specific embodiments find particular use on-board passenger transportation vehicles, such as aircraft, where comfort and privacy must be balanced with safety and federal regulations.

CONTOURED CLASS DIVIDER

A contoured class divider for dividing an aircraft cabin according to a predetermined class arrangement and including a divider panel having a contour closely matching a contour of a forward-positioned seatback, and adapted for being positioned in closely spaced-apart relation to the seatback for providing additional space aft of the divider panel. At least one leg is provided for supporting the panel on an aircraft cabin deck. A viewing window is formed in the panel for providing the ability of a flight attendant to observe areas of the cabin.

Passenger seating comprises rows of seats with a door assembly at the end of each row for improving a seat occupant's privacy. The door assembly includes a door that slides into and out of a base in a primary mode of operation, and which supports a secondary mode of opening. The secondary mode may involve pivoting on hinges. A latch is provided to prevent the door from being opened routinely in the secondary mode. The door assembly is also capable of retracting with respect to the adjacent seat to improve access.

Aircraft Interior Surface and Method of Illuminating an Aircraft Interior Surface

An aircraft interior surface for partitioning, dividing, or establishing privacy within a cabin space includes a transparent material that provides for transmission of light within the aircraft cabin. A graphical design may be applied to the transparent material, the graphical design including indicia arranged in predetermined patterns based on a location or function of the transparent material. A light source located proximate to the transparent material may wash light across a surface of the transparent material such that the graphical design exhibits predetermined properties when illuminated by the light source. The transparent material may be selectively dimmable to increase opacity.
