11077630 · 2021-08-03 · ·

Disclosed herein is a molded laminated structure having negative draft angles and methods of manufacturing a molded laminated structure having negative draft angles. A preliminary structure having a first outer layer and a second outer layer is molded with a bend that divides the preliminary structure into two sections with an angle between the two sections of less than 180-degrees. Portions that extends from the sections are at positive draft angles. A groove is formed in the preliminary structure at the bend but not formed in a constant cross-section of the second outer layer. The preliminary structure is folding along the bend to at least partially close the groove and form a molded laminated structure with portions that extend at a negative draft configuration while retaining the second outer layer continuous throughout the molded laminated structure.

Storage compartment arrangement for a cabin of a vehicle
11840342 · 2023-12-12 · ·

A storage compartment arrangement for a vehicle cabin having a storage compartment, housing, closable storage compartment opening, lower compartment section in the housing, and upper compartment section in the housing. The storage compartment opening extends over the structural heights of both compartment sections. Items of luggage can be placed onto a lower horizontal pivoting edge and pushed into the lower compartment section. An upper horizontal pivoting edge is provided onto which items of luggage can be placed and can be pushed into the upper compartment section. The storage compartment opening has an upper opening edge facing an upper side of the upper compartment section and is adjoined by an auxiliary surface extending over the upper compartment section, is at an angle in a range of 10° to 50° to the separating plane, and, as the distance from the upper delimitation increases, encloses an increasing distance from the separating plane.

A movement device for a luggage compartment flap having a mounting arm for the mounting of a luggage compartment flap. The movement device furthermore includes an actuator which is coupled to the second section the mounting arm and which is configured to, when activated, move the mounting arm such that the luggage compartment flap is moved at least part of the way from an open position to a closed position. As a result of this movement of the luggage compartment flap, the latter can be more easily reached and, for example, moved manually into its closed position. Also provided are a luggage compartment having a movement device, a vehicle region having a multiplicity of luggage compartments, and a vehicle having at least one movement device.

FASTENING APPARATUS AND FASTENING ARRANGEMENT FOR FASTENING A CABIN INTERIOR COMPONENT, AIRCRAFT CABIN AND AIRCRAFT
20210300560 · 2021-09-30 ·

A fastening apparatus and fastening arrangement for fastening a cabin interior component, aircraft cabin and aircraft. To improve installation time and maintenance time, a modular fastening apparatus makes the decoupled rotational attachment of cabin interior components to the attachment structure possible, which attachment structure is in turn supported by the primary structure of the aircraft. The cabin interior component, for example a luggage bin, can be fastened simply by the fastening apparatus. The fastening apparatus includes an inner sleeve which can be plugged over a predefined fastening tube. An outer sleeve can be fastened rotatably to the inner sleeve and has a groove for centering the luggage bin by a holding element pushed onto the outer sleeve. The fastening apparatus can compensate for tolerances between the attachment structure and the cabin interior component and can prevent transmission of undesired forces and torques.

SECURE ENCLOSURE FOR AN ELECTRONIC INFORMATION, ENTERTAINMENT, AND TRANSACTION SYSTEM

The current document is directed to an enclosure for electronic equipment that secures the electronic equipment within a storage space, provides ventilation for the electronic equipment, which generates heat during operation, and protects the electronic equipment from mechanical insults while, at the same time, providing access to control features and display features on the front panel of the electronic equipment. The currently disclosed enclosure includes cooling ports that allow for exchange of air between the external environment and the interior of the enclosure. One implementation of the currently disclosed enclosure can be partly disassembled in order to quickly secure the electronic equipment within the enclosure and can then be quickly reassembled for storage.

HINGE ASSEMBLY

A hinge assembly is designed to reduce the number of details in the hinge assembly and to simplify the construction of the hinge assembly. The hinge assembly includes an arm having a length with a pivot post on a first end of the arm and an arm lock on an opposite second end of the arm. An internally screw threaded hole extends through the arm block. The plate is attached to the second end of the arm. The plate has a plate surface configured for attachment to a ceiling panel and an opposite adjustment surface. A ridge extends across the adjustment surface and a slot extends through the ridge. The arm block is positioned adjacent the ridge with the internally screw threaded hole of the arm block aligned with the slot through the ridge. An externally screw threaded rod extends through the slot and is screw threaded into the internally screw threaded hole through the arm block. The externally screw threaded rod is turned in opposite directions to alternatively lock the arm to the plate, and release the arm from the plate for adjustable positioning of the plate relative to the arm.

Aircraft passenger luggage bin load weight and balance system
11047728 · 2021-06-29 · ·

A load weight and balance system has first sensors for providing a first output signal proportional to an available internal volume of an associated passenger luggage storage bin. Second sensors provide a second output signal proportional a weight of any luggage in the associated passenger luggage storage bin. Display devices provide a visual indication whether or not each passenger luggage storage bin is filled to capacity. A main display provides a visual indication of the storage status of all of the passenger luggage storage bins. A processor receives the signals from the first sensors and the second sensors, calculates whether or not each of the passenger luggage storage bins is filled to capacity and whether or not each of the passenger luggage storage bins is within a predetermined weight value, and determines whether or not the weight distribution of the passenger luggage storage bins in the aircraft is balanced.
