Aircraft lighting systems and methods
An aircraft lighting system includes a light unit configured to emit light, a portable measurement device, and a control unit. The portable measurement device is configured to measure at least one attribute of the light emitted from the light unit and output the measured attribute of the light in an output signal. The control unit is configured to receive the output signal and control the light unit based on the measured attribute. In some aspects, the light unit is positionable in an aircraft, in certain examples, a method of controlling a lighting system includes measuring at least one attribute of light of a light unit with a portable measurement device, transmitting the measured attribute to a control unit, and controlling the light unit based on the measured attribute. In some cases, the method includes measuring the at least one attribute of a light unit in an aircraft.
SPECTRA FILL
A system for providing full spectrum light in an enclosed space. The system includes a first light source based on a red-green-blue (RGB) model, located in the enclosed space, and configured to generate a first light. The system further includes a second light source separate from the first light source, based on an alternative to the RGB model, located in the enclosed space, and configured to generate a second light such that a combination of the first light and the second light has a greater color rendering index (CRI) than the first light alone.
Systems and methods for providing electrical signals to electrical devices within an interior cabin of a vehicle
A vehicle include an interior cabin including a plurality of structural components, a plurality of electrical devices within the interior cabin, a power supply, and an electrical signal distribution system mounted to at least one of the plurality of structural components and electrically coupled to the power supply and the plurality of electrical devices. The electrical signal distribution system includes a printed circuit board (PCB), and a plurality of outlets coupled to the PCB. The plurality of outlets electrically couple to the plurality of electrical devices. The electrical signal distribution system provides electrical signals to the plurality of electrical devices.
Area light integrated in a cabin furnishing element
A cabin furnishing element (100) for a cabin, such as a cabin of an aircraft, includes a panel (102) having a panel body. The panel body includes an illumination surface (106) having an illumination zone (110), and defines a lighting recess (112) within the panel body relative to the illumination surface (106). The panel (102) also includes a lighting system (104) having a light source assembly (120) and a light guide (122). The light source assembly (120) and light guide (122) are retained within the lighting recess (112) defined by the panel body. The lighting system (104) is adapted to selectively illuminate a portion of the illumination zone (110).
AIRCRAFT SUITE
Described is an aircraft suite having an aircraft seat for use by a passenger, the aircraft suite also having a controller, for controlling a number of output states of the aircraft suite, the controller having a logic condition receiver for receiving a logic condition input, and distance measurement equipment for measuring a distance between a first location within the suite and a second location within the suite, and providing a distance input to a distance receiver of the controller, wherein, in use, the controller controls at least one of the output states of the aircraft suite based upon both the logic condition input and the distance input. The invention also provides a method of controlling an environment within an aircraft suite.
Controllable micro light emitting diode system and method
A variable geometry light source and related method for illumination comprises a dense array of micro light emitting diodes (LED) incorporated within a printed circuit board and controlled by an incorporated microcontroller. The microcontroller receives user input and causes the dense array to illuminate according to the input. A tunable lens operates to focus the LED illumination toward one or more specific target subjects creating a variable geometry light projection. The microcontroller is configured with instructions which cause the dense array to produce a variety of shapes, intensities, and color temperatures tailored to the individual installation. The microcontroller causes the dense array to create a light projection suitable for illumination of a subject as well as a dynamic projection animated for a communication to the viewer.
Lighting system configuration
A system and related method provide an ability at a local level to develop and modify an aircraft lighting configuration. Local maintenance may modify and replace a lighting configuration file associated with an aircraft lighting control defining default values and preset intensities for interior, exterior, cabin, and cargo bay lighting. A Graphical User Interface (GUI) offers a maintenance technician and a crewmember efficient flight deck control of each zone and field enabling efficient user control of each aspect of aircraft lighting.
Slim aircraft monument with deployable workstation
A slim aircraft monument includes a structure installable in an aircraft passenger cabin adjacent to a cabin space (e.g., in front of an otherwise unused exit door). The slim monument has an overall width of not more than four to six inches. The slim monument includes a side door with an external handle, the door deployable into the cabin space to reveal a group of nested interconnected panels within. The nested panels are similarly deployable into the cabin space to form a substantially horizontal work surface and, underneath the work surface, vertically stacked bays providing temporary storage for storage drawers and a cart space adjacent to the storage drawers, the cart space capable of accommodating a half-size galley cart.
COLOR CORRECTION METHOD FOR CHROMATIC ABERATION USING MULTIPLE COLOR LED SOURCES
A lighting device is disclosed. In various embodiments, the lighting device includes an optical system; a plurality of light sources arranged in a matrix, the plurality of light sources including a first plurality of light sources configured to irradiate a first region of the optical system with a first light color, a second plurality of light sources configured to irradiate a second region of the optical system with a second light color; and a processor configured to control interaction of the first plurality of light sources and the second plurality of light sources with a third plurality of light sources and to control mixing of the first light color and the second light color.
FLEXIBLE LIGHTING STRIPS
A flexible lighting strip for use in an aircraft cabin has a minimum bend radius of no more than 40 mm, and comprises: a track comprising a channel extending along the length of the track; and an inner component within the channel, the inner component comprising lighting components arranged along the length of the inner component. The track comprises two inwardly-directed protrusions extending from opposing sides of the channel, each of the protrusions extending into the inner component 4 and increasing in width within the inner component. The inner component may be formed separately as an insertable insert, or may be formed within the track. A kit of parts for forming such a flexible lighting strip is also disclosed.
