Aircraft having a specific arranging module

An aircraft including a cabin inside which a floor is installed, and at least one arranging module which is fixed solely to the floor and which includes a front wall, a rear wall, a port-side wall and a starboard-side wall which are rigidly connected to one another. The port-side and starboard-side walls each have a door, a roof and a deck fixed to each of the front, rear, port-side and starboard-side walls, and a separating system which makes it possible to separate the internal volume of the arranging module into two volumes, each being accessible through one of the doors. Such an aircraft therefore provides an arranging module which is fixed solely to the floor of the cabin, thereby facilitating the set-up thereof.

Disclosed herein is a portable bed having particular application for use in an aircraft. The aircraft bed includes a folding frame and a folding mattress to lay on and be supported by the folding frame. The folding frame includes a plurality of upstanding panels that are hingedly coupled side-to-side one another so that the frame can be collapsed from an expanded unfolded configuration at which to support the mattress to a compact folded configuration at which to be suitable for storage. In one embodiment, the folding frame is located between a pair of aircraft seats that face one another, and the mattress extends between the seat portions of the facing seats. In another embodiment, the folding frame is located between an aircraft seat and an upstanding structure (e.g., a wall) of the aircraft, and the mattress extends between the reclined back portion of the aircraft seat and the upstanding structure by way of the folding frame.

A storage container (100) has a base (102) defining at least one storage compartment (202, 204, 206, 208, 210, 212), a top (104) movable between closed and opened positions, latching and locking assemblies. The latching assembly (500) has a latching actuator (110) movable between first and second positions. The latching assembly (500) locks the top (104) to the base (102) when the top (104) is in the closed position and the latching actuator (110) is in the first position and releases the top (104) from the base (102) when the latching actuator (110) is in the second position. The locking assembly has a lock actuator (801) having actuated and released positions. The top (104) is movable when the lock actuator (801) is in the actuated position. The locking assembly locking the top (104) in the open, closed, or an intermediate position when the lock actuator (801) is in the released position. The latching actuator (110) and the lock actuator (801) are operatively connected to the top (104) and move with the top (104) between the closed and the opened position.

Cabin module and layout for a passenger aircraft

A cabin module for a commercial aircraft includes a set of bulkheads defining a quadrant with an inboard wall and converging side walls. The module is sub-divided by a removable partition which splits the module into two passenger compartments. The quadrant shape of the module enables it to overlap an adjacent seat area, thereby using space between seat areas that is otherwise underutilised. In a particular form the modules define a single central aisle which transitions from a pair of parallel aisles aft via a Y-shaped transition region.

Vehicle with flat seat

A vehicle with a flat seat may include a floor portion having a leg groove recessed downward from a surface of the floor portion; a seatback disposed on the floor portion and reclining by a rotation of the lower end; a seat cushion disposed on the floor portion ahead of the seatback; and a leg cushion disposed in the leg groove of the floor portion and having a rear portion rotatably coupled to the seat cushion.

Non-intrusive passenger rest cabin monitoring system

A passenger cabin monitoring system includes infrared cameras disposed in respective passenger rest compartments, a flight attendant information system including at least one display and at least one speaker, and a computing device in communication with the infrared cameras and the flight attendant information system. The computing device is configured to detect a temperature of a portion of passenger rest compartment based on one or more thermal images generated by a respective infrared camera of the passenger rest compartment. The computing device is further configured to compare the temperature of the portion of the passenger rest compartment with a predetermined critical temperature and provide an audible alert and/or a visual alert via the flight attendant information system to indicate a critical status of the passenger rest compartment when the temperature of the portion of the passenger rest compartment is above the predetermined critical temperature.
