Systems and methods for functionality and controls for a VTOL flying car

A vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft has a first drivable configuration in which the pilot seat is positioned between the wings and facing the direction of forward travel. The VTOL may be driven in the first configuration as a normal automobile. In the first configuration the wings are aligned with the direction of forward travel and their surfaces are vertically oriented. In the first configuration, the VTOL may also attain altitude and be maneuvered using thrust from propulsion sources. In a second configuration, the pilot seat is rotated 90 degrees from the direction of forward travel to a direction of forward flight. Forward flight is achieved using thrust to rotate the wings from the vertical orientation to a lift-providing orientation. In concert with the rotation of the wings, the pi lot seat is counter-rotated to maintain the seat facing the direction of forward flight.

An aircraft seat group is described. The aircraft seat group includes first and second aircraft seats. The seat group also includes a center console between the aircraft seats. The center console includes a microphone unit including an audio transducer. The audio transducer generates a voice recording of a passenger sitting on one of the seats in response to a signal, thereby reducing privacy concerns. The signal is received by one or more of a record button or a communication interface. The voice recording may thus provide one or more of passenger recommendation or flight recordings during emergency conditions. The microphone unit is embedded in one or more of an armrest or a seat back divider of the center console.

DOOR ASSEMBLY FOR PASSENGER SEATING

A door assembly for passenger seating comprises a base having a leading end in which a recess is formed, and a door that is curved in end cross-section. The door is pivotable with respect to the base and, in an open state, the rearward end of the door is located in the recess. The arrangement reduces the space in the forward direction that is required to accommodate the door, and so facilitates provision of a minimum size of gap between seat rows without having to increase inter-row pitch.

Seat extension with modular length, unit comprising a seat extension and passenger cabin

A cabin of a vehicle for transporting passengers includes a plurality of units, each unit including a seat and a modular seat extension arranged staggered in the units. Each extension includes a shell having a front bottom and a rear opening determined by a hollow volume open towards the rear and a footrest area inside the hollow volume suitable for receiving the feet of a passenger. The shell of each extension includes an invariant portion and a modular portion located in front of the invariant portion. The modular portion making it possible during the fastening thereof to the invariant portion to obtain an extension with a length that can be modified between the opening and the bottom of the shell and, a width of passage towards the aisle between the seats and the extensions of the units is maintained constant during the use of the extensions by the passengers.

Offset flange floor panel connection system

A floor panel connection system for attaching a floor panel to an airframe is disclosed. The connection system includes an offset flange insert comprising a base portion, a flange portion, and an interconnect portion. The base portion of the insert is configured to be received in a hole in an edge region of the floor panel and includes an opening that is sized to receive a fastener. The interconnect portion extends laterally from the base portion such that when the edge portion of the floor panel is overlapping a lateral edge portion of the airframe, the flange portion of the insert is beyond the lateral edge portion. The flange portion is also configured to be bonded to a bottom surface of the floor panel beyond the lateral edge portion of the airframe.
