Described are support assemblies for a passenger seat, that can include a supportive surface configured to connect with a frame of a passenger seat, and shaped to support a passenger. Supportive surfaces can include a first portion formed of a first plurality of cells having an auxetic cell geometry that can deform to adopt a synclastic curvature under stress, and a second portion formed of a second plurality of cells having a non-auxetic cell geometry that can deform to adopt an anticlastic or cylindrical curvature under stress. The regions having respective auxetic and non-auxetic cell geometries can be arranged to form a supportive surface that can flex to follow contours of a seated passenger.

The passenger seat assembly includes a first wall, a second wall opposite from the first wall, and a passenger seat having a first side and a second side opposite from the first side. In both the forward-facing configuration and the aft-facing configuration, the first wall is proximate to the first side of the passenger seat and the second wall is proximate to the second side of the passenger seat.

The seat construction includes a fixed frame including spaced frame members each having a support surface to be rocked on, a rocking frame including a seat pan and spaced rockers, the spaced rockers positioned to rock on the support surfaces, guides carried on the spaced rockers engaged to travel within guide slots of the spaced frame members, a backrest pivotally attached to the rocking frame, and a leg rest pivotally attached to the rocking frame. The rocking frame may rock back-and-forth in-flight or may be locked at any given position based on passenger preference. The seat construction is compatible with or without other seat adjustment mechanisms such as tracking, swivel, lie-flat and recline adjustment mechanisms.

The door (130) is translatable in a second direction that is transverse to the first direction, between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the door (130) is translatable across the opening (120) along the first path, and when the door (130) is in the second configuration, the door (130) is translatable across the opening (120) along a second path. The invention also provides a door arrangement and a method of using a door.

A headrest assembly for a seat, such as an aircraft pilot seat, including a headrest and a headrest tilt mechanism. The tilt mechanism includes a headrest support, a casing fixed to the headrest support defining a rotation limiter feature determining a full aft headrest position and a full forward headrest position, a driven gear rotatably disposed in the casing, a driver gear rotatably disposed through an axial opening formed though the driven gear, an engaging feature for urging against the headrest, and an actuator for rotating the driver gear. The driven gear and the driver gear have a predetermined gear tooth reduction ratio and a predetermined axial shift distance such that the two gears are arranged in a profile shifted configuration.

The attachment elements are repositionable along the first structural member to mate with the floor-mounted channels, and lockable to retain the first structural member with respect to the two floor-mounted channels when the first structural member is attached.

The damping or the stiffness are adjusted by a closed loop control.
