Robotic surgical inventory management

A supply tray for a surgical procedure is selected based on the surgical procedure and patient data retrieved from an electronic health records database. Multiple steps of the surgical procedure are retrieved from the electronic health records database. A message is sent to a first manipulator to move a supply from the supply tray to a staging area for performing a step. A first indication is received from a first sensor that the supply is needed at a present time. A position where the supply is needed in an operating area proximate to the staging area is determined using a second sensor. A second message is sent to a second manipulator to move the supply from the staging area to the position. A second indication is received from a third sensor that the step is complete. A third message is sent to a third manipulator to remove the supply.

Surgical light, system including the surgical light and method for operating the surgical light

A surgical light is provided, the surgical light comprising a light head including at least one illuminant configured to generate an illuminated area on a surgical site, and a sensor attached to the light head, wherein the sensor is configured to identify items used in surgery, and the sensor is attached to the light head such that a detection volume of the sensor is directed to the illuminated area.

ELECTROSURGICAL MEDICAL DEVICE WITH POWER MODULATION
20220354563 · 2022-11-10 ·

An electrosurgical ablation device provides pulse width modulated DC power to a heating segment in a catheter for use in providing treatment. In some embodiments the DC power to be modulated is sourced from an AC/DC power converter coupled to a source of AC power. In some embodiments the DC power to be modulated is sourced from a battery. In some embodiments the device switchably selects for modulation DC power sourced from either the AC/DC power converter or the battery, for example based on availability of power from the AC/DC power converter.

PORTABLE TEST APPARATUS AND METHOD OF TESTING RF/MICROWAVE TREATMENT SYSTEM

A portable test apparatus for testing an RF/microwave treatment system, the portable test apparatus comprising: a connector configured for connection to a generator or amplifier of the treatment system and/or to a distal end of a reusable transmission cable of the treatment system; a measurement device configured for measuring RF/microwave energy received through the connector; and a test controller configured to: run at least one test of a set of tests for testing the treatment system, at least some of the set of tests comprising using the measurement device to measure RF/microwave energy supplied by a generator or amplifier of the treatment system to a proximal end of the reusable transmission cable and transmitted through the reusable transmission cable to the connector; and analyse and/or record and/or output results of the set of tests.

TWO DEGREE OF FREEDOM SYSTEM AND METHOD

A method and system to align a pin or drill a tunnel along a single line in space with a two degree of freedom (2-DOF) surgical device in a patient is provided. A plane is defined relative to a desired location for an implant or tunnel on a bone, where the implant or tunnel has an axis. An end-effector of the 2-DOF surgical device is aligned coincident with the plane, and the 2-DOF surgical device is moved side-to until a first indicator signals when the end-effector aligns with an entry point for the desired location for the implant or tunnel on the bone. A tip of the end-effector is anchored into the bone at the entry point; and the 2-DOF surgical device is rotated about the anchored tip until a second indicator signals when the end-effector aligns with the axis of the implant or tunnel at the desired location.

METHOD FOR MONITORING OBJECT FLOW WITHIN A SURGICAL SPACE DURING A SURGERY

One variation of a method for monitoring needle consumption in a surgical space during a surgery includes: accessing a sequence of images captured by a camera facing an inventory field within the surgical space; scanning the sequence of images for needle packages and needles; in response to detecting entry of a needle package into the surgical space in a first image, logging entry of the needle package, labeled as sterile, into the inventory field at a first time and incrementing a sterile packaged needle counter for the needle package according to a first quantity of sterile needles associated with a type of the needle package; and, in response to detecting removal of a first needle from the inventory field in a second image, incrementing a deployed needle counter at a second time succeeding the first time and decrementing the sterile packaged needle counter.

Automated end effector component reloading system for use with a robotic system

A surgical instrument. The surgical instrument includes an end effector that comprises a staple channel and an anvil that is movably translatable relative to the staple channel. A tool mounting portion is configured to interface with a robotic system and operably communicate with the end effector. The instrument further includes a first sensor that has an output that represents a first condition of a portion of the robotic system. A second sensor has an output that represents a position of the anvil. A third sensor has an output that represents a position of a reciprocating knife within the end effector. An externally accessible memory device communicates with the first, second and third sensors.

Wearable patch, and sheet-type cell

Provided is a wearable patch that can reliably interrupt the power supply from the cell after use and can be disposed of as it is. Moreover, provided is a sheet-type cell that can reliably interrupt the power supply after use and can be disposed of safely. The wearable patch is worn on the body and includes a functional element, a drive circuit unit that operates the functional element, and a cell as a power source. A cutting facilitating member is formed to allow a predetermined portion of the wearable patch to be cut with a force of 200 N or less so that the power supply from the cell to the drive circuit unit is interrupted.

SURGICAL DRILL WITH AUTOMATIC RETRACTION AND ASSOCIATED METHODS AND SYSTEMS

The present technology relates to surgical drilling devices, and associated systems and methods. In some embodiments, a surgical drilling device includes a drill bit and a retraction mechanism. The retraction mechanism can include a housing, a slide assembly within the housing and operably coupled to the drill bit, a spring element engaging the slide assembly, and a locking element coupled to the slide assembly. The locking element can be movable between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration based on an amount of force applied by the drill bit to the slide assembly. When in the locked configuration, the locking element can secure the slide assembly to the housing. When in the unlocked configuration, the locking element can allow the spring element to displace the slide assembly proximally within the housing to retract the drill bit.
