METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING COOLING TO THE HOLD OF AN AIRCRAFT

A method for providing cooling to cargo in the hold of an aircraft includes providing a temperature-reactive cargo item in the hold of an aircraft, providing an alert condition associated with the temperature-reactive cargo item corresponding to a need to cool the temperature-reactive cargo item in the aircraft hold, identifying via a sensor arrangement the alert condition within the aircraft hold, and cooling the aircraft hold after identification of the alert condition.

UAV having shroud cooling openings

A UAV including a shroud with cooling openings to cool electronics in the UAV. The shroud includes propeller openings surrounding respective propellers. The propeller openings include intake openings that draw air from outside the shroud into the shroud to cool UAV components. The propeller openings are formed at an interface between an upper portion of the shroud and a lower portion of the shroud. The UAV includes a selector, such as a dial, including exit openings under the selector that provide air outflow from the shroud.

In some examples, a system includes a conduit configured to receive a cooled air flow produced by an air conditioning pack of a vehicle, such as an aircraft, and deliver the cooled air flow to an interior volume defined by the vehicle, such as an interior volume defined by a hollow axle of a landing gear assembly. The conduit may receive the cooled air flow from one or more compartments of the vehicle and/or an ECS of the vehicle. The conduit is configured to deliver the cooled air flow to provide cooling to one or more components within the interior volume.

AIRCRAFT CAPABLE OF HOVERING AND RELATIVE CONTROL METHOD

Aircraft capable of hovering comprising a fuselage at least one rotor that is rotatable with respect to the fuselage, electrical drive means adapted to rotate the rotor and electrically powered by a battery, and a cooling system of the battery. Said cooling system comprises, in turn, a first opening for the air to enter, second openings for the air to escape and a passage which places the first opening in fluidic communication with the second openings and within which the battery is placed. The cooling system further comprises a fan adapted to increase the kinetic energy of the air contained in the passage and which is operated when the forward speed of the aircraft with respect to the ground is lower than a speed threshold value and/or when the temperature of the battery exceeds a temperature threshold value.
