The first diagonal strap may be coupled to the second diagonal strap at a first joint. The cargo harness may also include a cross strap having a first end, a second end and a sleeve disposed between the first end and the second end, wherein the first diagonal strap and the second diagonal strap pass through the sleeve and the sleeve overlaps at least a portion of the x-crossing. In one embodiment, the cargo harness may include a dual-point release strap assembly operably connected to the first and second diagonal strap for connecting a cargo load to a parachute harness.

Each line has a length and a plurality of canopies coupled to and along the length. The plurality of canopies, across the plurality of lines, create an aggregated force of air resistance to slow a falling object in the harness. Loss of some of the canopies or some of the lines does not significantly affect the performance of the redundant clustered parachute apparatus to safely deliver the object to the ground.

The parachute coupled with the drogue chute with a drogue tether. A riser tether extends between a descent system end portion and a balloon system end portion, and the descent system end portion is coupled with the parachute. A drogue cover release is coupled between the riser tether and the drogue cover. The descent system transitions between riser deployment and parachute deployment configurations. In the riser deployment configuration the system housing is decoupled from the atmospheric balloon system and the riser tether is deployed between the system housing and the atmospheric balloon system. In the parachute deployment configuration the deployed riser tether opens the drogue chamber and deploys the drogue chute and the deployed drogue chute opens the parachute chamber and deploys the parachute.

Parachute harness container with bio-contoured load distributing vest

A harness container for a parachutist has a bio-contoured support cradle or load distributing vest. The load distributing vest, which is generally U-shaped and includes an upper yoke and two straps integral with the yoke, has a multi-layer construction that includes an outer layer and an inner layer mounted on a bio-contoured pad. The outer layer and the inner layer are of corresponding shape and are sewn to one another along a reinforced edging with the pad therebetween. The upper yoke is attached to the front side of the harness container and the ends of the vest straps are attached to the main lift webs so that the vest elevates the harness container and distributes the load thereof across the jumper's shoulders, back and chest for increased comfort.
