Hybrid transmission on propeller gearbox
A gearbox assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a planetary gear set comprising a sun gear, a planet gear, and a ring gear, the sun gear configured for connection to a first drive shaft of the gas turbine engine and the ring gear configured for connection to a second drive shaft of the gas turbine engine, and an electric machine assembly comprising an input and an electric machine. The electric machine comprising a rotor coupled to the input and a stator fixedly positioned within the gearbox assembly, the input of the electric machine assembly coupled to one of the sun gear, the ring gear, or the planet gear of the planetary gear set.
Untethered robot with hybrid air and water power for hovering and quick airborne movements
A robot including a hybrid fan-based and fluid-based propulsion system to provide thrust, such as deceleration during fall to create a smooth landing or to provide a quick reduction in velocity, and to provide actuation/controlled motion, such as to hover after quick deceleration and to control orientation or pose. The hybrid propulsion system uses discharging of pressurized fluid and exhausted gas (or fluid in some cases) from ducted fans (or propellers, impellers, and the like) to provide controlled thrust and/or lift forces. The hybrid propulsion system uses of pressurized fluid for generating larger or primary thrust and quick changes in velocity. The hybrid propulsion system includes a fan-based propulsion assembly with ducted fans that use environmental air (or fluids) to provide lower or secondary thrust. Both types of propulsion can be integrated into a robot or robotic figure to move the robot during flight (e.g., during falling or hovering).

Apparatus for generating thrust for air transport
An apparatus for generating thrust for air transport includes a main thrust device, and an auxiliary thrust device configured to generate auxiliary thrust so as to enable an aircraft to vertically take off and land. The apparatus further includes: wings fixed to left and right sides of a fuselage of the aircraft, rotors installed on the wings and configured to generate thrust. In particular, the main thrust device provides driving force to the rotors using motors and an engine, and the auxiliary thrust device is installed in the fuselage and has a center of gravity configured to coincide with a center of gravity of the aircraft.
AERIAL VEHICLE
To provide an aerial vehicle that can improve the driving feel and riding comfort of a rider. An aerial vehicle according to the present technology includes: a vehicle body extending in the front-rear direction; a saddle section provided on an upper side of the vehicle body; a motive power section provided on an underside of the vehicle body, at a position below the saddle section; and a rotary wing section which is provided at at least one of the front and rear of the motive power section, and which rotates by using the motive power section as a motive power source.
Unmanned aerial vehicle
A hybrid aerial vehicle (HAV) comprising: a fuselage of the HAV; a first mechanism within the fuselage for accepting a plurality of wings of the HAV, the first mechanism allowing coordinated contraction of the plurality of wings essentially into the fuselage such that tips of the wings are position in proximity of the fuselage and coordinated extension of the wings such that tips of each wing are positioned away from the fuselage; a first wing extending from the port side of the fuselage and connected to the first mechanism; a second wing extending from the starboard side of the fuselage and connected to the first mechanism; a second mechanism placed within the fuselage in proximity to its front end, the second mechanism allowing motion of propellers of the HAV affixed there to between a first plain and a second plain; a first set of propellers affixed at the port side of the fuselage to the second mechanism; a second set of propellers affixed at the starboard side of the fuselage to the second mechanism; a third mechanism placed within the fuselage in proximity to its rear end, the third mechanism allowing motion of propellers of the HAV affixed there to between a first plain and a second plain, and further placing the propellers affixed thereto to be at a vertical displacement with respect to the propellers affixed to the second mechanism; a third set of propellers affixed at the port side of the fuselage to the third mechanism; and a fourth set of propellers affixed at the starboard side of the fuselage to the third mechanism.
