PROPELLER-TYPE PROPULSION SYSTEM FOR AN AIRCRAFT
A propeller-type propulsion system for aircraft comprising a propeller, a plurality of electric motors and a gearbox. The gearbox has an output shaft onto which the propeller is mechanically coupled, and has an input shaft onto which the plurality of electric motors is mechanically coupled, the input shaft being off-center with respect to the output shaft. All of the electric motors are mechanically coupled one after the other along the input shaft such that the electric motors are at least partially integrated into a space, on the opposite side of the gearbox from the propeller, that is left free owing to the input shaft and the output shaft being off-center with respect to one another. As a result, the diameter of the propulsion system, in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the propeller, is reduced. This improves the aerodynamics and the fuel consumption of the aircraft.

PROPELLER-TYPE PROPULSION SYSTEM FOR AN AIRCRAFT
A propeller-type propulsion system for aircraft, comprises a propeller, a plurality of electric motors comprising nested coaxial respective driveshafts, and a gearbox having an output shaft onto which the propeller is mechanically coupled, and an input shaft to which the coaxial driveshafts of the electric motors are mechanically coupled. As a result, the diameter of the propulsion system, in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the propeller, is reduced. METHOD OF AND SYSTEM FOR ONE-ENGINE-INOPERATIVE TRAINING IN AIRCRAFT WITH DISSIMILAR ENGINES
A method of simulating an aircraft one-engine inoperative (“OEI”) event includes operating a supplemental power unit (“SPU”) at a first SPU power level less than an SPU contingency power rating, operating a primary engine at a first primary-engine power level, reducing the primary-engine power level to less than the first primary-engine power level, and maintaining a sum of the primary-engine power level and the SPU power level at a power level substantially equal to the SPU contingency power rating.
REDUCED-ENGINE OPERATION TECHNIQUE FOR ROTORCRAFT
Various implementations described herein are directed to an aircraft having a multi-engine configuration with multiple engines. The aircraft may have a flight control system coupled to the multiple engines with a multi-engine interface. The flight control system may be configured to shutdown at least one engine of the multiple engines during reduced-engine operation by continuously calculating altitude for the reduced-engine operation based on one or more of an aircraft descent rate of the aircraft and an engine restart time of the at least one engine.

Dual-motor propulsion assembly
Provided in this disclosure is a dual-motor propulsion assembly, and corresponding methods of operation, that is configured for use in an electric aircraft. Dual-motor propulsion assembly provides redundant systems by including vertically stack motors, where one motor powers a propulsor of the assembly if the other motor malfunctions or becomes inoperative.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BALANCING AT LEAST ONE PARAMETER TO BE BALANCED OF AN ELECTRIC MOTOR OF A PROPULSION SYSTEM
A system (11) for balancing at least one parameter to be balanced of an electric motor of a propulsion system (1), in particular of an aircraft, includes at least two electric motors (3, 4) and a propulsion member (2) driven in rotation by said electric motors. The balancing system is configured to calculate a correction of the speed setpoint (Corr_Cons_VI, Corr_Cons_V2) as a function of a correction factor (F1, F2) of the speed setpoint depending on a parameter (P1, P2) of the associated electric motor that is intended to be balanced and on a speed setpoint (Cons_VH) of the propulsion member (2).
