Enclosed space occupancy detection systems and methods
An occupancy detection system and method for an enclosed space includes a door sensor operatively coupled to a door of the enclosed space. The door sensor is configured to output a door sensor signal that indicates a status of the door. At least one presence sensor that is configured to output at least one presence sensor signal that indicates an occupancy status of the enclosed space. An occupancy detection control unit is in communication with the door sensor and the at least one presence sensor. The occupancy detection control unit is configured to receive the door sensor signal and the presence sensor signal(s). The occupancy detection control unit is configured to determine an occupancy status of the enclosed space based on the door sensor signal and the presence sensor signal(s).
Photoluminescent marker systems
A method of manufacturing an aircraft photoluminescent marker that comprises a substrate includes providing an ink or coating adapted to be cured with ultra violet (UV) radiation and printing one or more markings directly onto the substrate of the photoluminescent marker with the ink or coating, followed by curing the ink or coating with UV radiation. The substrate is one of a photoluminescent material or a housing, and the marking comprises at least one of a pattern, wording, images, blocks, or indicia.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONTROLLED DISEMBARKATION OF AIRCRAFT PASSENGERS
A passenger aircraft includes a plurality of passenger seats arranged in seat rows, and a disembarkation guidance system. The disembarkation guidance system includes a plurality of electronically operable visual indicators, each of the plurality of electronically operable visual indicators being assigned to a respective seat row. The disembarkation guidance system further includes an indicator control device coupled to each of the electronically operable visual indicators. The indicator control device is configured to individually control electronically operable visual indicators to indicate passengers in the assigned seat row whether they are permitted to disembark the passenger aircraft.
Component positioning systems and methods for an internal cabin of vehicle
A component positioning system and method are configured to facilitate positioning of a component (such as a seat assembly) on a seat track within an internal cabin of a vehicle. The component positioning system and method include a component, and a position indicator coupled to a portion of the component. The position indicator emits a proper position indication when the component is in a proper position in relation to the seat track. The position indicator emits a remedial position indication when the component is not in the proper position with respect to the seat track.
Method and apparatus for detecting seatbelt compliance in commercial passenger aircraft
A seatbelt detection system detects seatbelt use in each seat of a passenger aircraft to produce safety-compliance data. A computer system, which is communicatively coupled to the seatbelt detection system, generates a time-based record of the safety-compliance data. The computer system can use the time-based record to adapt cabin operations policy, including cabin temperature, cabin lighting, illumination of seatbelt signs, scheduling of meal or drink service, timing of inflight announcements, or the availability of in-flight entertainment.
PROJECTION SYSTEM FOR TRANSLUCENT DISPLAYS AND METHODS OF OPERATING THEREOF
A system is provided. The system includes a translucent display positioned such that a first face is a display face and that a second face is a projection face and at least one projector configured to project an image on the second face of the translucent display. The image is displayed on the first face. The system also includes at least one sensor configured to transmit a signal when triggered and a projector controller in communication with the at least one projector and the at least one sensor. The projector controller is programmed to receive a signal from the at least one sensor and instruct the at least one projector to project at least one image on the translucent display in response to the signal from the at least one sensor.
FLIGHT SAFETY DEMONSTRATION AND INFOTAINMENT THROUGH MIXED REALITY
The present disclosure is generally directed to the use of mixed reality to provide safety information as well as infotainment during flight. Demonstrations of the safety information for the aircraft are augmented in a 3-D way with a virtual representation of the aircraft. The virtual representation provides the safety instructions to the passengers. The mixed reality concept provides the safety information with the help of video-see through mixed reality by way of a head-mounted display worn by the passengers. The safety instructions are provided with a complete working view of locations and operations for the safety jackets, emergency exits, and oxygen passenger service units.
Tray Table Indicator
A tray table indicator includes a channel, a cover, and a magnetic ball. The channel has a first extension, a curve, and a second extension, and the cover encloses the channel. A magnetic ball is contained within the channel and is movable from the first extension around the curve to the second extension of the channel in response to rotation of the rotating tray table component by a minimum distance in a first direction. The curve of the channel is configured to prevent gravity from returning the magnetic ball to the first extension from the second extension in response to rotation of the rotating tray table component in a second direction after having rotated the minimum distance in the first direction.
ILLUMINATING DEVICE AND INTERIOR PART FOR A VEHICLE
An illuminating device for a vehicle includes a carrier module, a flat light guide attached to the carrier module with a plurality of emitting points, and multiple light sources for illuminating the light guide. The flat light guide is concealed with a translucent haptic layer, which is attached to a visible side of the light guide, which, in turn, is covered by a decorative layer. The illuminating device comprises a rope-like light guide, which has an inherent light source and is connected to the decorative layer via a retaining device. This therefore results in a flat arrangement, which can be easily integrated into the interior parts and simultaneously enables illumination over a large surface area. In doing so, additional light effects can be integrated by means of the rope-like light guide. The illuminating device is not visible while switched off, as the illuminating device is covered by the decorative layer.
Interior aircraft light, aircraft cabin lighting system, aircraft, and method of illuminating an aircraft cabin
An interior aircraft light includes a mounting structure for mounting the interior aircraft light to an aircraft seat; a UV radiation source; and an optical system, configured to direct UV radiation from the UV radiation source towards a floor portion underneath the aircraft seat.
