Compartment Content Notification and Inspection Device and Method
A system and method for vehicle compartment item presence indication senses an item within a vehicle compartment and notifies a user if the item is expected or unexpected within the compartment based on a vehicle state. Should the item be expected in a compartment during a phase of flight where the compartment is expected to contain items, there is no abnormal indication. However, if a compartment is expected to be empty during a specific phase of flight and the sensors indicate an item is present, the system will alert the user to the unexpected item.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM USING VIDEO OBJECT RECOGNITION TO MONITOR SEAT AREAS AND GENERATE FLIGHT CREW NOTIFICATIONS
An object recognition computer for a vehicle includes at least one processor and at least one memory storing program code executable by the at least one processor to perform operations. The operations are configured to receive video streams from a plurality of cameras spaced apart within the vehicle and each having a field-of-view capturing at least one passenger seat. For each of the video streams, the operations retrieve from a data structure information that defines a region within video frames of the video stream where object recognition is to be performed to attempt to identify a defined object associated with the at least one passenger seat. The operations then perform object recognition limited to within the defined region to identify the defined object. Notifications can be selectively generated to passengers and/or crew based on the object recognition.
ENCLOSED SPACE OCCUPANCY DETECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An occupancy detection system and method for an enclosed space includes a door sensor operatively coupled to a door of the enclosed space. The door sensor is configured to output a door sensor signal that indicates a status of the door. At least one presence sensor that is configured to output at least one presence sensor signal that indicates an occupancy status of the enclosed space. An occupancy detection control unit is in communication with the door sensor and the at least one presence sensor. The occupancy detection control unit is configured to receive the door sensor signal and the presence sensor signal(s). The occupancy detection control unit is configured to determine an occupancy status of the enclosed space based on the door sensor signal and the presence sensor signal(s).
Systems, methods, and devices for controlling smart fabrics in aircraft
Systems and methods for controlling smart fabrics. In some embodiments, the smart fabrics are attached to vehicle seats, benches, and/or beds. In some embodiments, the smart fabrics enable digital components to be embedded in them and can be configured to modify their physical behavior including changing their color, breathability, stiffness, as well as other properties, depending on the applications the fabric is being utilized for. In order to control these smart fabrics and the different properties of them, smart fabric controllers are provided as well as one or more vehicle controllers that help to give instructions and update the firmware of each of the one or more smart fabric controllers on the vehicle.
LIFE VEST CONTAINER DEVICE
The invention relates to a life vest container device, in particular aircraft seat life vest container device, for a life vest unit, with a life vest container comprising an accommodation unit that has an accommodation space as well as an access opening to the accommodation space, and with a monitoring device.
It is proposed that the monitoring device is at least configured to capture a change of at least one characteristic via at least one electric and/or electronic signal.
Exit door indication system
An aircraft emergency exit door indication system may comprise a first plurality of light sources, a controller, and a first sensor associated with a first exit door. The first sensor feedback signal indicates an availability for egress through the first exit door. The first plurality of light sources is operated by the controller based upon the first sensor feedback signal. The light sources may be lights that already exist in an aircraft such as ceiling wash lights, sidewall wash lights, floor path lights, dome lights, or passenger service unit lights. The system may include a second plurality of light sources logically separated from the first plurality of light sources based upon its location relative to the first exit door and a second exit door.
Panelling part for a cabin of a means of transportation
A panelling part for a cabin of a means of transportation is proposed, which includes at least one display unit and at least one control unit, which are produced by printing and equipping at least one film, which is applied to a panelling element. The control unit can communicate wirelessly with an external electronics unit, so that the panelling part only requires a power terminal to implement electronic functions. Functions can be retrofitted easily by replacing the at least one film.
System for displaying the status of use of aircraft overhead luggage storage bins
A system and method are disclosed for displaying the storage status of overhead luggage storage bins in an aircraft. A camera is provided that is mounted with a field of view directed at an inner portion of a group of open bins. The camera is communicatively coupled to a controller and selectively provides images of the inner portion of the bins immediately prior to when the bins are closed to the controller. A projector is also provided for each group of bins. The projector is communicatively coupled to the controller and is mounted such that an image received from the controller is projected onto an outer surface of the closed bins. The controller receives images from each of the cameras and selectively provides such images to the projector associated with each camera so that a storage status display is projected on an outer surface of the bins.
AIRCRAFT SAFETY WARNING DECAL
One embodiment is an apparatus comprising a transparent film having adhesive material disposed on a first planar surface thereof and a design imprinted on a second planar surface thereof, wherein the second planar surface is opposite the first planar surface and wherein the design comprises a plurality of graphical elements each having an outline therearound in a color that contrasts with a color of the element.
Integrated Sidewall Light
Methods, systems, and apparatuses are disclosed for conditioning or blending light for increasing the uniformity of light distribution and light wavelength customization, and light arrays integrated into structural and non-structural assemblies and sub-assemblies in cabin interiors.
