According to one aspect of the invention there is provided a method of drying a body of grain, comprising storing the body of grain in an elongate bag silo 10, providing at least a first outlet 22 intermediate a first end 16 and a second end 18 of the bag and at least a first and a second inlet (26, 28), situated intermediate the outlet 22 and the first end 16 of the bag. The second inlet 28 is spaced longitudinally further away from the first outlet 22 than the first inlet 26 and the first outlet 22 is the closest outlet to the second inlet 28 in a direction towards the second end 18 of the bag 10. The method further comprises providing a flow of air, between the inlets and the outlet such that a pressure differential between any of the inlets is maintained within a predetermined threshold.

Adapter device for coupling a construction heater to an existing grain bin aeration fan

An apparatus for connecting a heater to a grain bin aeration fan features a multi-piece adapter device having a connection adapter with inlets for receiving flexible ducts from a heater. The connection adapter can be used on its own to directly interface with a grain bin aeration fan of a first size, or can be used in combination with a cooperative sizing adapter to adjust an effective outlet size of the adapter to better fit a grain bin aeration fan of a different second size. An ambient air intake in the connection adapter entrains ambient air into the heated air stream.

DISCHARGE SPREADER FOR GRAIN BIN

A grain spreader includes a hopper and spreader arms that distribute grain in a bin with a spreader cone having convergent divergent cones. The convergent cone forms a first flow zone. A center opening between the convergent cone and divergent cone allows a first portion of grain collecting in the convergent cone to pass through the spreader cone. An intermediate funnel is inside the hopper body between the convergent cone and the hopper body. A second portion of the grain spills over the rim of the convergent cone and onto the divergent cone into a second flow zone outside the convergent cone but inside the intermediate funnel. When the second zone fills with grain, a further portion of grain will spill over a rim of the intermediate funnel into a third flow zone radially outward of the intermediate funnel but inside the hopper body.

Bagging assembly

A bagging assembly for bagging bales of fibrous material is disclosed. The bagging assembly incorporates a chute defining a channel for receiving a bale, which is pushed there between by a stuffing assembly. Aspects of the bagging assembly include raising a bale using a bale elevator to a higher elevation position so that the bale could be stuffed by the stuffing assembly and using a bag retrieving mechanism for retrieving a bag from a bag location for use in bagging the bale.

EXPANDABLE GRAIN BAGGING APPARATUS AND METHOD THEREOF

The present invention relates to devices and methods for loading grain into a grain bag using a grain bagging apparatus that can expand and contract to accommodate different grain bag sizes. The apparatus is comprised of an expandable grain discharge tunnel. This expandable tunnel comprises a stationary section and a flanking side. The flanking side can expand in an outwardly direction away from the stationary section to increase the overall width of the grain discharge tunnel such that differently sized grain bags can be utilized with a single grain bagging apparatus. The flanking side can be slid in an inwardly direction towards the stationary section into a first position for use with smaller grain bags. In the first position, the apparatus is easier to transport or store. The grain bag can be loaded onto the grain bagging apparatus in a first position and then the expandable grain discharge tunnel can be expanded into the second position.
