MEDICAL SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND RELATED METHODS
A medical device system includes an insertion device and a medical device. The insertion device includes an insertion device handle, including a port on a handle body. The insertion device also includes an insertion device shaft extending from the insertion device handle. The insertion device shaft includes a working channel connected to the port. The medical device includes a medical device handle, including a movable handle portion and a stationary handle portion. The movable handle portion includes a ball portion movably positioned within a cavity in the stationary handle portion. The medical device also includes a medical device shaft. The medical device shaft is configured to be delivered through the port in the insertion device handle and through the working channel in the insertion device shaft. Movement of the movable handle portion relative to the stationary handle portion controls movement of a distal portion of the medical device shaft.
SURGICAL PROCEDURALIZATION VIA MODULAR ENERGY SYSTEM
Systems, methods and devices for surgical procedurelization via a modular energy system are disclosed herein. In various aspects, the systems, methods and devices include an energy module, a header module communicably coupled to the energy module, and a display screen capable of rendering a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI may be configured to display a plurality of steps that correspond with actions performed by a user while operating the modular energy system. In some aspects, the steps displayed are steps of a predetermined procedural checklist corresponding with a mental model followed by the user while performing a surgical procedure. In some aspects, the steps displayed are steps of an output verification process.
Roll subsystems for robotic stapling and cutting systems
Systems and subsystems for cutting and stapling tissue are disclosed. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to systems, devices, and subsystems for attachments for robotic surgeries. The surgical instrument is a robotic attachment including a roll subsystem. The roll subsystem comprises a rotatable shaft having a longitudinal axis, a roll input puck engageable with a roll robotic output, a worm gear coupled to and rotatable by the roll input puck, and a worm follower coupled to the rotatable shaft. Rotation of the roll input puck causes the worm gear to rotate the worm follower and thereby roll the rotatable shaft about its longitudinal axis.
Surgical instruments, systems, and methods incorporating ultrasonic and three-phase electrosurgical functionality
A surgical system includes an ultrasonic generator configured to provide an ultrasonic drive signal, an ultrasonic transducer coupled to the ultrasonic generator to receive the drive signal and produce mechanical ultrasonic energy, an electrosurgical generator configured to output three-phase RF energy, and an end effector assembly. The end effector assembly includes an ultrasonic blade coupled to the transducer to supply the mechanical ultrasonic energy to tissue to treat tissue. At least a portion of the ultrasonic blade defines a first electrode; second and third electrodes are also provided. The first and second electrodes, the first and third electrodes, and the second and third electrodes are electrically coupled to the electrosurgical generator and configured to conduct the first, second, and third phases, respectively, of the three-phase RF energy therebetween and through tissue to at least one of treat or interrogate tissue.
