SURGICAL PROCEDURALIZATION VIA MODULAR ENERGY SYSTEM
Systems, methods and devices for surgical procedurelization via a modular energy system are disclosed herein. In various aspects, the systems, methods and devices include an energy module, a header module communicably coupled to the energy module, and a display screen capable of rendering a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI may be configured to display a plurality of steps that correspond with actions performed by a user while operating the modular energy system. In some aspects, the steps displayed are steps of a predetermined procedural checklist corresponding with a mental model followed by the user while performing a surgical procedure. In some aspects, the steps displayed are steps of an output verification process.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL SURGICAL INSTRUMENT
A multifunctional surgical instrument (1) is provided. The multifunctional surgical instrument (1) comprises a proximal portion (13) and two legs (14), each leg comprising a distal end (11, 12), wherein a default position of the multifunctional surgical instrument is an open position, wherein the distal ends (11, 12) of the legs (14) do not meet in the open position, characterized in that each leg (14) comprises an aspiration half-channel (26, 27), the proximal portion (13) comprises an aspiration connection (29) and at least one of the distal ends (11, 12) comprises at least one aspiration orifice (28), wherein the two half-channels (26, 27) are configured to form an air-tight and water-tight continuous channel (25) connecting the at least one aspiration orifice (28) to the aspiration connection (29) when the multifunctional surgical instrument is in a fully closed position and are configured to open the aspiration channel (25) when the multifunctional surgical instrument is not in the fully closed position.
SURGICAL DEVICE ACTIVATION DETECTION USING CURRENT SENSING
In general, devices, systems, and methods for surgical device activation detection using current sensing are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a surgical system includes a surgical pump, a detector, and a surgical device. The detector is configured to sense changes in electrical power in an AC power line from an AC power source to the surgical device to detect activation of the surgical device. In response to the detection activation, the pump can properly provide suction pressure to the surgical device to allow the surgical device to provide aspiration at a surgical site during performance of a surgical procedure.
ROBOT-ASSISTED LASER SURGICAL SYSTEM
A system for working biological tissue, the system comprising: a tool comprising a laser operable to perform at least one action of work; positioning means for positioning the tool relative to the biological tissue to perform the at least one action of work; a controller; storage storing electronic program instructions for controlling the controller; and an input means; wherein the controller is operable, under control of the electronic program instructions, to: receive input via the input means; process the input and, on the basis of the processing, control the positioning means and the tool to work the biological tissue.
IMPEDANCE DEVICES AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME TO OBTAIN LUMINAL ORGAN MEASUREMENTS
Impedance systems and methods of use. The impedance systems include only one electrode positioned upon an elongate body, and at least two external electrodes. The only one electrode is configured to both excite an electric field and detect the electric field. The only one electrode works with a first external electrode to generate an electric field and works with a second external electrode to obtain conductance measurements from the electric field. In other embodiments the first external electrode and/or the second external electrode may also be configured to both excite an electric field and detect the electric field. In other embodiments, both the first external electrode and the second external electrode can work with the only one electrode to both generate an electric field and obtain at least one conductance measurement.
SURGICAL TOOL WITH A SELECTIVELY BENDABLE SHAFT AND CABLES THAT SELECTIVELY BEND THE SHAFT AND THAT, WHEN THE SHAFT IS BENT, ARE IN TENSION
A surgical tool with a bendable shaft. At least one inelastic cable and at least one elastic cable (288) extend along the shaft. The shaft moves relative to the body to which the shaft is attached. When the shaft is so displaced, the shat bends around the inelastic cable. The inelastic and elastic cables cooperate to hold the bendable section of the shaft in compression so the bendable section of the shaft resists deformation.
Irrigated catheter with fluid evacuation
A catheter for use with a suction source for removing excess fluid from a tissue treatment site has a catheter body, a distal section and a fluid evacuation path, where the distal section includes a multi-lumened member and at least one evacuation port, and the fluid evacuation path extends through a lumen in the multi-lumened member to provide suction communication between the suction source and the at least one evacuation port. The fluid evacuation path may also be configured for two-way flow, including distally and proximally along the catheter.
Laser device for vascular and intrabody surgery and method of use
A laser atherectomy device includes a light delivery catheter equipped with sensors for monitoring physical characteristics at a laser application site. An integrated control unit utilizing data from said sensors is provided to optimally adjust laser energy parameters and to provide for safe and efficacious ablation of the blood vessel occlusion.
