SYSTEM, METHOD, AND SMARTWATCH FOR FALL DETECTION, PREDICTION, AND RISK ASSESSMENT

A system, method, and smartwatch for determining an impact threshold score, inputs for height, weight, activity level, hydration information, and age of a user are received, A body mass index of the user is determined. Values for the activity level, body mass index, hydration information, and the age of the user are assigned. The impact threshold score is calculated utilizing the values. Thresholds fora smartwatch are established in response to the impact threshold score.

DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC SPLINTS AND METHODS OF USE

Various implementations include a method of decreasing oxygen saturation levels in a patient, including securing a leg and foot of the patient to a splint having a leg supporting portion, a foot supporting portion, and an inflatable device. The leg supporting portion includes a leg support body and leg support surface. The foot supporting portion includes a foot support body and foot support surface. The inflatable device rotates the foot support surface relative to the leg support surface from a first position to a second position. The angle between a leg longitudinal axis and a foot longitudinal axis is less in the second position than in the first position. The method further includes inflating the inflatable device to rotate the foot support surface from the first position to the second position and maintaining the second position to decrease oxygen saturation levels in the patient.

Integrated sensor network methods and systems

Methods and systems for an integrated sensor network are described. In one embodiment, sensor data may be accessed from a plurality of motion sensors and a bed sensor deployed in a living unit for a first time period. An activity pattern for the first time period may be identified based on at least a portion of sensor data associated with the first time period. The activity pattern may represent a physical and cognitive health condition of a person residing in the living unit. Additional sensor data may be accessed from the motion sensors and the bed sensor deployed for a second time period. A determination of whether a deviation of the activity pattern of the first time period has occurred for the second time period may be performed. An alert may be generated based on a determination that the derivation has occurred. In some embodiments, user feedback is captured on the significance of the alerts, and the alert method is customized based on this feedback. Additional methods and systems are disclosed.

Incontinence detection systems for hospital beds

An incontinence detection system monitors an area for moisture events and wirelessly transmits moisture-related information to one or more notification devices. The system has a pad that includes a substrate and one or more sensors supported by the substrate. The sensor(s) emit wireless signals indicative of the moisture-related information. A sensor event communication system forwards the sensor signals to another device, such as a notification device. Portions of the system are included in a patient support apparatus, such as a bed.

The optical dental caries diagnostic device (1) has a probe (30) having optical transparency and a taper shape with an end portion to be in contact with a tooth, a light source (20) emitting light to the probe (30), and a light receiving element (40) receiving light from the end portion of the probe (30).

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR EVALUATING HEARING USING CROSS FREQUENCY SIMULTANEOUS MASKING
20210315491 · 2021-10-14 ·

A method for conducting a cross frequency simultaneous masking (xF SM) test begins with generating a signal probe and a masker probe. The center frequencies of the signal and masker probes are separated by a fixed frequency ratio. An xF SM curve is generated by sweeping the signal and masker probes across a given frequency range, while maintaining the fixed frequency ratio between the two. While sweeping, the masker probe is maintained at a pre-determined masker amplitude or a series of pre-determined masker amplitudes. The amplitude of the signal probe is adjusted in response to a series of user inputs, which are then interpolated to generate the xF SM curve. Additionally, while sweeping, the signal probe can be maintained at one or more pre-determine amplitudes and the amplitude of the masker probe adjusted in response to user inputs, which are then interpolated to generate the xF SM curve.

Method and system for privacy-preserving fall detection

Various embodiments of a vision-based privacy-preserving embedded fall-detection system are disclosed. This embedded fall-detection system can include one or more cameras for capturing video images of one or more persons. Moreover, this embedded fall-detection system can include various fall-detection modules for processing the captured video images including: a pose-estimation module, an action-recognition module, and a fall-detection module, all of which can perform the intended fall-detection functionalities within the embedded system environment in real-time in order to detect falls of the one or more persons. When a fall is detected, instead of sending the original captured images, the embedded fall-detection system can transmit sanitized video images to the server, wherein each detected person is represented by a skeleton figure in place of the actual person images, thereby preserving the privacy of the detected person. The embedded fall-detection system can be implemented as an embedded vision sensor to be installed at a single fixed location.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR IDENTIFYING THE CROSSING OF A VIRTUAL BARRIER
20210264145 · 2021-08-26 ·

Systems, methods and media are disclosed for identifying the crossing of a virtual barrier. A person in a 3D image of a room may be circumscribed by a bounding box. The position of the bounding box may be monitored over time, relative to the virtual barrier. If the bounding box touches or crosses the virtual barrier, an alert may be sent to the person being monitored, a caregiver or a clinician. Bounding box tracking may be used in addition to or instead of an initial tracking process, such as skeletal tracking.
