Control apparatus, system, and program library
A method accurately detects biting of a foreign object in a packaging machine. A control apparatus controls a packaging machine that sequentially seals and/or cuts a packaging material transported in a first direction using a rotor. The rotor is arranged to have a tangent to its outer circumference portion in contact with the packaging material extending in the first direction. The rotor is drivable and rotatable by a driver. The control apparatus includes an information obtaining unit that obtains information indicating a rotational position of the rotor and a status value of the driver in predetermined cycles, and a determination unit that determines a presence of an abnormality in a sealed portion of the packaging material using, from the information obtained by the information obtaining unit, a status value of the driver corresponding to a rotational position of the rotor falling within a predetermined range or being a predetermined position.
METHOD AND AN APPARATUS FOR PACKAGING ARTICLES
A method and apparatus for forming packages including articles enclosed between first and second continuous paper sheets having their edges joined by a thermally-activated adhesive, wherein the first and second continuous paper sheets are heated while subjected to a longitudinal tension.

Apparatus for packaging sheet material
An apparatus is arranged for packaging sheet material, in particular banknotes, vouchers, checks, separation cards, etc., with a packaging device, packaging material dispensed from a roll for packaging the sheet material, and a control device controlling the apparatus. A monitoring device is provided for the packaging material, and the control device evaluates a signal of the monitoring device during the packaging of sheet material, in order to derive therefrom whether packaging material is present on the roll.
ELECTROSCOPIC MATERIAL PACKAGING
A method for producing enveloped electroscopic filter material can include feeding, from a main spool, at least one sheet of electroscopic filter material in a first direction, feeding, from a pair of spools, sheets of cover material in the first direction such that each spool feeds a sheet of cover material along a different side of the sheet electroscopic filter material, sealing, via a pair of heat-sealing roller nips, the at least one sheet of electroscopic filter material and the sheets of cover material periodically together to form sealed portions, and cutting, via a cutting mechanism, each sealed portion to produce envelopes of electroscopic filter material. The at least one sheet of electroscopic filter material can extend to the outermost edges of each envelope such that each envelope comprises substantially the same dimensions as the at least one sheet of electroscopic filter material.

Filling level-independent gassing
A method for operating a sealing station of a packaging machine, wherein the method may include one or more of the following steps: filling a packing volume of a package with a gas to create a desired atmosphere to a preset gassing target pressure for a finished package, wherein the packaging volume may be defined by a lower and an upper packaging material; discharging a partial amount of the gas introduced into the packaging volume from the packaging volume into a collection volume while retaining the packaging volume generated by the preceding filling, which reduces the pressure within the packaging volume; and reducing the packaging volume by moving the upper packaging material to an end position that corresponds to a desired appearance such that the pressure inside the package increases again to near the gassing target pressure. A sealing station that performs this method is also described.

Product packaging method and machine
According to one embodiment a packaging machine and method for packaging a product is provided in which a cover film is arranged on the product and on a base film which supports the product and is narrower than the cover film; the superimposed films are moved in a first direction to a joining station where both films are attached to one another; and the attached films are moved in the first direction to a cutting station where the films are cut transversely and where the areas of the cover film projecting from the base film are cut longitudinally. The movement of the films is caused by acting on the cover film.
