Stretch wrapping machine supporting top layer containment operations
A method, apparatus and program product implement top layer containment operations to optimize containment of various types of loads such as loads with top/slip sheets, ragged topographies, and/or inboard portions. Bidirectional control of the elevation of a web of packaging material may be performed within one or more revolutions between a load and a packaging material dispenser to selectively engage one or more corners of the load with a web of packaging material while passing the web of packaging material inwardly of one or more other corners of the load.
Gripping apparatus for a wrapping machine
A gripping apparatus associable to a wrapping machine and arranged to grip and retain an end flap of a film wrapped around a load at the end of a wrapping process, comprises pliers which include a first lever and a second lever that are hinged around a first axis and provided respectively with a first jaw and a second jaw suitable to tighten the film in a gripping position, a supporting arrangement for supporting the pliers and an actuator device fixed to the supporting arrangement and arranged to move the pliers between the gripping position and a releasing position, in which the jaws are spaced apart; the first lever comprises a first connecting end that is opposite to the first jaw and rotatably fixed to the supporting arrangement and the second lever comprises a second connecting end that is opposite to the second jaw, rotatably connected to the actuator device and linearly actuated by the latter along a first displacement direction in such a manner that the jaws are mobile around the first axis, along said first displacement direction and along a second displacement direction transversal to said first displacement direction.
Device and method for checking the quality of extensible film for packaging
A device for checking the quality of extensible film for wrapping purposes available in reels, operatively associable to a wrapping machine. The device supports at least one reel of extensible film, including at least one storage memory of a plurality of wrapping programs of a palletized load, each characterised by different operating parameters to carry out the wrapping operation, and detects at least one parameter representative of the quality of the film on the reel and measures instant by instant, the present diameter of the reel. An electronic processor, operatively associated with the storage memory, is provided suitable for selecting and/or changing a given wrapping program according to at least the parameter representative of the quality of the film on the reel. A method to inspect the quality of the packaging stretch film available in reels.
Pallet roping and wrapping apparatus
Pallet roping and wrapping machines having a plurality of spools of stretch film supported on one or more spools and guides that form ropes of stretch film without cutting. Specific implementations of guides include guides formed or rings and rollers. Positions of guides may be adjustable. A primary roll of stretch film may be positionally coupled to a primary spool core, and a plurality of secondary rolls of stretch film may be positionally coupled to one or more secondary spool cores. The wrapping machines may include a plurality of guides positioned to narrow the stretch film from the plurality of secondary rolls to form a plurality of ropes fully overlapping a web of the primary roll of stretch film when wrapped around a palletized load.
Bale Wrapping Apparatus
A bale wrapping apparatus configurable between a single bale wrapping configuration and an inline bale wrapping configuration. The bale wrapping apparatus comprises a bale wrapping support assembly including support rollers spaced apart from one another to drive a bale in rotation along a rotation axis, when the bale wrapping apparatus is configured in the single bale wrapping configuration; and a longitudinal bale support configurable between an extended configuration where it extends above the support rollers and a retracted configuration where it extends away from the support rollers. The longitudinal bale support is positioned in the retracted configuration when the bale wrapping apparatus is configured in the single bale wrapping configuration and is configured in the extended configuration when the bale wrapping apparatus is configured in the inline bale wrapping configuration.
Methods and apparatuses for securing a palletized load with stretch film
A method for securing a palletized load is provided. The method comprises dispensing a first stretch film vertically inserted over a first support member, dispensing a second stretch film having an upper lateral side edge and a lower lateral side edge and being vertically inserted over a second support member, edging at least one of the upper lateral side edge and the lower lateral side edge of the second stretch film to obtain an edged second stretch film, partially overlapping the edged second stretch film and the first stretch film, passing the combined stretch film through a pre-stretcher, and wrapping the combined stretch film around the palletized load. The height of the stretch film can be adjusted using a height adjustment device. A third stretch film can be dispensed and combined with the first and second stretch films.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LOCAL DIMMING IN MULTI-MODULATION DISPLAYS
Dual and multi-modulator projector display systems and techniques are disclosed. In one embodiment, a projector display system comprises a light source; a controller, a first modulator, receiving light from the light source and rendering a halftone image of said the input image; a blurring optical system that blurs said halftone image with a Point Spread Function (PSF); and a second modulator receiving the blurred halftone image and rendering a pulse width modulated image which may be projected to form the desired screen image. Systems and techniques for forming a binary halftone image from input image, correcting for misalignment between the first and second modulators and calibrating the projector systeme.g. over timefor continuous image improvement are also disclosed.
PACKAGING MATERIAL EVALUATION AND APPARATUS THEREFOR FOR SENSING PACKAGING MATERIAL FLAWS
A method, apparatus and program product may evaluate a packaging material to determine various metrics associated with the packaging material. An apparatus may be used to sense flaws in packaging material, and in some instances, to accommodate such flaws by temporarily increasing a dispense rate of a packaging material dispenser.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A WRAPPING PROCESS
A system and method for controlling a wrapping process of a round bale is disclosed. The round bale rotates in a bale chamber of a round baler with elastic wrapping material being removed from a supply roller using a tensioning device and guided during the wrapping process by at least one guide roller. The round bale is wrapped with the wrapping material pretensioned by the tensioning device with an adjustable wrapping tension predetermined by the control unit. A sensor assembly may sense the actual value for a force resulting from the wrapping tension, which is compared with a target value for the force resulting from the wrapping tension, which is determined during the performance of at least one preceding wrapping operation and specific to the wrapping material. The control unit controls the tensioning device depending on the deviation determined by the comparison of the actual value and the target value.
