Method for making a capsule for beverages and capsule

A method for making a capsule usable in a brewing machine including the steps of: making a filtering element intended for containing the initial product and having at least one gripping portion; fixing the filtering element to a casing; filling the filtering element with a dose of the initial product; fixing a covering element to the casing to close hermetically inside the cavity the filtering element and the initial product; and reinforcing the gripping portion to enable a user grasping the latter to remove at least the filtering element from the casing after use.

Device for manufacturing a pouch accommodated in a wrapping

The present invention relates to a device for manufacturing a pouch containing a brewable material accommodated in a wrapping, comprising a pouch manufacturing device adapted to manufacture a water-permeable pouch containing brewable material, and comprising a sealing station with two sealing jaws movable relative to one another for sealing the pouch in the wrapping placed in a U-shape around the pouch, wherein the sealing jaws are configured to form longitudinal seals (L) lying opposite one another and a transverse seal (Q) extending transversely thereto on the wrapping, wherein at least one sealing jaw comprises first and second sealing jaw elements each configured to form one of the longitudinal seals (L) and a segment of the transverse seal (Q).

System and machine for the preparation of beverages using capsules

A system and machine for the preparation of beverages using capsules which includes a perforation device having an annular perforation member which, in the closed condition of the infusion chamber, extends into the interspace and is designed to cause a tear in the protruding portion of the wall of the capsule contained inside the chamber, such that a flow of pressurized water can be introduced into the capsule through the interspace or gap and the tear.

Machine for forming filter bags for infusion products

A machine for forming filter bags for infusion products, starting from pieces of filter material feeding along a feed line, includes: a movement carousel rotating continuously about an axis; a plurality of grippers positioned along, and movable continuously with, the carousel, each gripper configured for retaining a respective piece of filter material; a plurality of operating stations positioned along, and movable continuously with, the carousel; each operating station associated with a gripper and configured to operate on the piece of filter material to form, at least partly, a filter bag along a predetermined angular stretch of rotation of the carousel; a plurality of translation devices, associated with the carousel and configured for translating a gripper along a direction parallel to the axis to bring the corresponding gripper to the respective pieces of filter material at least for a stretch of the feed line.

Machine for forming filter bags for infusion products

A machine for forming filter bags for infusion products includes a carousel and a transfer wheel with a plurality of gripping devices. A plurality of control devices control the gripping devices between a first operating position for receiving a filter bag from the carousel or for releasing the filter bag in a collection zone, and a second operating position for retaining the filter bag. A control unit measures defects in the filter bags. An auxiliary control device is located on the transfer wheel and connected to the control unit for controlling, selectively, the passage from a second operating retaining position to a first release position on a predetermined gripping device and along an angular stretch of rotation of the transfer wheel, at a control signal of the control unit generated in the presence of a defective filter bag, to release the defective filter bag in a different collecting zone.

METHOD OF SEALING A COMPOSTABLE CONTAINER BY PIERCING THE LIDDING

A fully compostable beverage capsule may be produced by improving the seal strength between the capsule and its lid. In this invention, a number of protruding “spikes” are added to the upper and/or lower edges of the capsule. The lidding is then attached to the capsule via an energetic welding process, such as ultrasonic welding. The protruding “spikes” are deformed during this welding, increasing the surface area contact between the capsule and its lidding. Acting similarly to rivets, these spikes will improve the strength of the seal that forms between the lidding and the capsule.
