DEVICE FOR FACILITATING A CHEMICAL REACTION
20190091644 · 2019-03-28 · ·

A device for facilitating a chemical reaction while submerged in a liquid catalyst includes an upper member, a lower member, and a dissolvable member disposed between and ultimately enclosed by said upper and lower members such that upper and lower chambers are formed having substantially equal volumes. The upper chamber may receive a dry sodium chlorite and the lower chamber may receive a dry acid mixture. In order to keep the device submerged in the liquid catalyst, an inert ballast may also be added to the upper and/or lower chamber, such as glass shards.

Package, packaged product, method of releasing at least one agent into chamber portion of package, and process of packaging

A package includes a chamber portion, a hollow frame adjacent to the chamber portion, and a frangible chamber closure zone between the chamber portion and the frame. A method of releasing at least one agent into a chamber portion of a package includes rupturing a frangible closure between the chamber portion and a hollow frame to release the at least one agent contained in the hollow frame into the chamber portion. A process of packaging includes providing a base web; placing a product on the base web; positioning over the product a lid web; fixing the lid web to the base web to form a chamber portion enclosing the product; fixing the lid web to the base web to form a hollow frame adjacent to the chamber portion; and including an agent in the frame.

Machine for creating and filling a multi-compartment pouch simultaneously with powder and liquid

A packaging machine forms, fills and seals a mixing pouch that includes a first compartment containing a liquid ingredient and a second compartment containing a light powdered ingredient with a breakable seal, preferably formed by an adhesive heat seal, between the two compartments to separate the two ingredients. The machine creates a breakable seal that can be ruptured to form a common interior cavity and allow the mixing of the two ingredients to create a mixed product. One end of the mixing pouch can be formed with a dispenser through which the mixed product is discharged for use. The mixing pouch is a flexible plastic member formed from two opposing plastic sheets, sealed through heat dies and supplied with powdered and liquid components before being completed. The operation of the machine is automated and powered through pneumatic cylinders. Alternatively, the compartments could be filled with different liquid components.

MIXING MACHINE FOR PRODUCING FOAM WITHIN A BAG

A machine produces foam-in-bag from foam precursors mixed within the bag. The machine comprises a base and a shell. The base and shell are moveable relative each other between a base/shell disengaged position and a base/shell engaged position. In the base/shell engaged position, the base and shell divide the bag so that a mixing chamber is isolated from the remainder portion of the bag. First and second nozzles inject foam precursors into the mixing chamber. A mixer engages the mixing chamber to provide mixing energy to facilitate the foam reaction.

FILLING ASSEMBLY FOR THE MANUFACTURING OF A PACKAGING AND DISPENSING DEVICE FOR DUAL CONTENT
20190053600 · 2019-02-21 ·

A filling assembly (12), comprising: a container (14) for storing a first fluid composition (38), a pipette (54) removably inserted in the container through an opening (22); and a plug (110) removably to a dispensing end (66) of the pipette, defining an inner compartment (112) isolated from the first fluid composition. The filling assembly comprises a holding element (56) configured to hold the pipette inside the container in a predetermined position while maintaining at least one aperture (70) within the opening, said aperture allowing for fluid communication between the outside and the inside of the container, so that the container and the pipette may be filled simultaneously with the first and second fluid compositions (38, 114) respectively, before assembling the second open end (62) of the pipette with a pressure supply device.

MULTI-COMPARTMENT HEAT-SEALABLE BAG FOR FOOD STORAGE
20240260616 · 2024-08-08 ·

A storage bag for particular use with home based vacuum heat sealing devices includes adjacent compartments separated by a frangible seam. A first compartment may store substantially dry foodstuffs such as meat, and/or crunchy items. A second adjacent compartment may store a liquid marinade, sauce or similar flavoring. Each compartment may feature an opening for filling the respective compartment. The openings may be provided on a common edge such that heat sealing by a vacuum sealing device may be simultaneously performed in a single sealing operation. Channels may be embossed into the bag layers of the first compartment to facilitate evacuation of the first compartment by the vacuum sealing device prior to heat sealing. The sealed bag may be stored until required for consumption, at which time the internal frangible seam may be broken to allow mixing of the two compartments.

A first compartment may store substantially dry foodstuffs such as meat, and/or crunchy items. A second adjacent compartment may store a liquid marinade, sauce of similar flavoring. The openings for each compartment may be provided on opposite edges of the bag so that each compartment may be independently heat sealed using a vacuum sealing device. The first compartment may additionally be evacuated. The sealed bag may be stored until ready for consumption, at which time the internal frangible seam may be broken to allow mixing of the two compartments.
