Modified atmospheric flow-wrap system
A modified atmosphere flow-wrap system and method and components thereof are provided for packaging a food product in a reduced oxygen atmosphere in a continuous or partially-continuous process. In one aspect, the flow-wrap system includes a saturation tunnel for saturating the food products with modified gas to reduce an amount of residual oxygen therein. In another aspect, the flow-wrap system includes a flow-wrapping station with a modified gas lance that extends into film webbing used to form the food product packages to insert modified gas into the film webbing and restrict oxygen from entering the food packages.

Method and apparatus for packaging respiring produce
A method of manufacturing a modified atmosphere package is provided which comprises the steps of: providing a portion of packaging material; providing a portion of produce; forming, from the portion of packaging material and the portion of produce, a closed package defining a package volume and containing in the package volume the portion of produce and a modified atmosphere. The modified atmosphere is modified with respect to the ambient atmosphere. The method comprises providing the modified atmosphere in the package volume by providing a gas mixture of at least one atmosphere modification gas and pressurised air in the package volume. An associated apparatus is also provided.
Method for packaging facilitated transport membrane
Provided is a means which makes it possible to prevent quality deterioration of a facilitated transport membrane for a long period of time. A method for packing the facilitated transport membrane selectively allowing a specific gas to permeate therethrough, includes the steps of: putting the facilitated transport membrane in a packaging body having a transmission rate of not more than 10,000 cm.sup.3/(m.sup.2.Math.24 h.Math.atm) for the specific gas; preventing a contact between the facilitated transport membrane and the specific gas; and lastly sealing the packaging body.

Gas evacuation system with counter
A puncturing device for pressurized containers comprises an elongated housing defining an elongated cavity with openings at either end for receiving an inverted pressurized container at one end, the housing including a selective attachment member for securing the other end of the housing to a collection receptacle. A non-sparking puncturing apparatus, with a lever having a built-in stop, is movably mounted on the housing with a pivot-link-driven puncture pin extending through an intermediate aperture into the cavity for piercing a nozzle-end of the pressurized container below an internal shoulder thereof with a seal. A counter records each action of the puncture pin. Container contents are released into the receptacle. An auxiliary support is rotatably mounted on the housing for stabilizing relative movement between the housing and the receptacle. A force-applying apparatus is mounted on the housing for engaging the pressurized container and holding it on the seal.
Vacuum packaging device having a moisture-sensing capability
There is provided a moisture-sensitive vacuum packing machine, and particularly, there is provided a moisture-sensitive vacuum packing machine for sensing moisture within a chamber. The moisture-sensitive vacuum packing machine includes: a device housing having a controller and a vacuum driving unit; a chamber unit positioned above the device housing and having a first chamber and a second chamber whose interiors are vacuumized when the vacuum driving unit operates; and a sensing unit installed in the chamber unit such that it is associated with the controller, and sensing the presence or absence of moisture within the second chamber according to whether the sensing unit comes into contact with the second chamber.
Cavity-type vacuum sealing machine
The utility model discloses a cavity-type vacuum sealing machine, comprising a machine body and a cover which covers the machine body. The machine body is internally provided with a tray; an airtight cavity for holding packaging bags is formed between the tray and the cover; the cavity is internally provided with a hot-pressing bar and a heating and sealing component for sealing the packaging bags; the machine body is internally provided with a vacuum pump set for vacuumization; and the suction ports of the vacuum pump set communicate with the airtight cavity for holding the packaging bags via tubes. The cavity-type vacuum machine disclosed by the utility model has the advantages of smaller volume and small occupied space.
SURGICAL TRAY SYSTEM
A surgical tray system is disclosed. The system includes a tray for use in an operating room environment. In various embodiments, the tray includes an indentation having a bowl shape. A vacuum sealed bag is fitted over the tray and form fitted to the tray when the air is removed from within the bag. The tray optionally includes an light source for illuminating an area under the tray, a magnification element, and pouches for storing items used during a surgical procedure. The tray is optionally substantially transparent to allow light to pass through the tray. The tray is ideally positioned over a patient bed. It may be mounted via an arm to a bed frame member, a monitor station, or a ceiling fixture.
METHOD FOR PROLONGING THE VIABILITY OF FUNGAL SPORES IN LIQUID FORMULATIONS
The present invention relates to a method for prolonging spore viability of fungal spores present in a liquid formulation, comprising (a) packaging said formulation in a suitable container; (b) reducing oxygen exposure of the spores in said formulation as compared to oxygen exposure of said spores when said formulation is in contact with air; and (c) closing or sealing said container. The invention further relates to a closed container comprising a liquid formulation within said container, said formulation comprising fungal spores, wherein the spores in said formulation have reduced oxygen exposure as compared to oxygen exposure of said spores when said formulation is in contact with air.
