Such identification can be used to program retrieval attempts by a retrieval robot and in the formulation of the retrieval pattern. Additionally, networked notification systems for dispensable units can be used for updating rules or schedules related to the dispensable units, or alerting users and remote resources of any potential misuse or hazards of the dispensable units.

The storage container has a separating device including a plurality of channels and a retainer for preventing drugs from slipping into a channel aligned with a dispensing opening. The separating device includes an annular groove and the retainer includes a positioner that engages in the annular groove of the separating device and fixes the retainer vertically. The retainer also includes a retaining section and a holder. The holder secures the retainer against a concurrent rotation with the separating device and aligns the retaining section with the dispensing opening by the holder interacting with a circular cylindrical section of the housing.

The storage container includes a housing with an on the inside circular cylindrical section, a separating device arranged in the on the inside circular cylindrical section including a base body and multiple channels, the channels being open to the outer periphery of the separating device and each channel having a peripheral wall and two radial walls, and a retainer. At least one radial wall and/or the peripheral wall includes a depression and/or an elevation to reduce a contact area between a small piece good and the channel wall, the shape and size of the depression/elevation being selected in such a way that an electrostatic attraction between the small piece good and the channel wall is reduced.

A storage container for a storage and dispensing station for a blister machine for separable small piece goods, such as drug portions and food supplement portions, and a storage and dispensing station are provided. The storage container includes a housing having an inside circular-cylindrical portion, a separating device arranged in the inside circular-cylindrical portion having a surface, as well as a retaining assembly. Methods of dispensing small piece goods include storing one or more small piece goods in a storage container for a storage and dispensing station, engaging a positioner of a retainer with a separating device to fix the retainer above a dispensing opening, securing, by a holder, the retainer against a concurrent rotation with the separating device. Also, aligning, by the holder, the retaining section with the dispensing opening, rotating the separating device within the housing to situate a first channel above the dispensing opening, preventing, via the retaining section, additional small piece goods from entering the first channel containing a first small piece good and dispensing the first small piece good through the dispensing opening. Methods of using a system for storage and dispensing of drug portions are also provided.

Methods of dispensing small piece goods include storing one or more small piece goods in a storage container for a storage and dispensing station, engaging a positioner of a retainer with a separating device to fix the retainer above a dispensing opening, securing, by a holder, the retainer against a concurrent rotation with the separating device. Also, aligning, by the holder, the retaining section with the dispensing opening, rotating the separating device within the housing to situate a first channel above the dispensing opening, preventing, via the retaining section, additional small piece goods from entering the first channel containing a first small piece good and dispensing the first small piece good through the dispensing opening. Methods of using a system for storage and dispensing of drug portions are also provided.

An ammunition packaging apparatus and system is reconfigurable to package a select caliber of ammunition by changing a set of components to those associated with the selected caliber of ammunition and selecting the corresponding operating procedure. An ammunition collating and packaging apparatus can be quickly reconfigured from packaging a first caliber of ammunition to packaging a second caliber of ammunition by quickly replacing a define set of components and modifying operationally timings to correspond to the selected caliber.

A method for packaging and processing products in a continuously operating production line, including filling individual packaging containers with products in a filling station; dispensing the filled containers to an individualizing device in multiple tracks by a dispensing station, the individualizing device transferring the packaging containers onto a single track of a conveyor; transporting the containers by the conveyor one after another to at least one additional processing station, and operating the individualizing device in one of the following three operating modes: a) a normal mode in which the packaging containers are transferred from the dispensing station onto the single track of the conveyor, b) an on-stock mode in which the packaging containers are transferred from the dispensing station to a temporary store, and c) a low-load mode in which the packaging containers are transferred from the temporary store onto the single track of the conveyor.
