Wrapping machine and wrapping method
The invention relates to a wrapping machine for wrapping a load with a film including at least one operating unit for performing operations on the load or on the film and a conveying device for moving the load along an advancing direction through the machine. The machine includes a movement system that is adapted for moving the operating unit and comprises a shuttle assembly movable along a path and arranged for supporting and moving the operating unit. The shuttle assembly and the conveying device are drivable in a coordinated manner in order to enable the operating unit to perform operations on the load wrapped with the fi8lm even while the load is moved along the advancing direction and out of the machine.

INFLATABLE PACKAGING WITH VARIABLE TIE TEAR INITIATION FEATURES
An inflatable web is disclosed. The web includes a first and second film ply sealed together. The transverse seals define first and second inflatable chambers. The web defines a separation region extending at least partially between the first and second inflatable chambers in a substantially transverse direction across the web and configured to facilitate separation of the first and second inflatable chambers. The separation region includes a tear initiation feature that facilitates tearing of the web to separate the inflatable chambers. The separation region includes a tear propagation line including a first plurality of perforations perforation is separated from an adjacent perforation by a land having a first transverse length. A tear initiation feature includes a second plurality of perforations, each perforation separated from an adjacent perforation by a land having a second transverse length, where the first transverse length is longer than the second transverse length.
INFLATABLE PACKAGING WITH OFFSET TEAR INITIATION FEATURES
An inflatable web is disclosed. The web includes a first film and second film ply sealed together via a plurality of generally transverse seals. The transverse seals define first and second inflatable chambers. The inflatable chambers are inflatable with, and contain, a fluid. The web defines a separation region extending at least partially between the first and second inflatable chambers in a substantially transverse direction across the web and configured to facilitate separation of the first and second inflatable chambers. The separation region includes a tear initiation feature that facilitates tearing of the web to separate the first and second inflatable chambers. The separation region includes a tear propagation line at least partially longitudinally offset from the tear initiation feature, and close enough to the tear initiation feature that force imparted to the web via the tear initiation feature will tear of the web through the tear propagation line.
INFLATABLE PACKAGING WITH TEAR INITIATION FEATURE
An inflatable web is disclosed. The web includes first and second film plies sealed together via a plurality of generally transverse seals to define a first and second inflatable chambers and an inflation region. The chambers are inflatable with a fluid and operable to contain the fluid. The sealed plies have a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge. The web defines a separation region extending at least partially transversely across the web between the first and second inflatable chambers and is configured to facilitate separation thereof. The separation region includes a tear propagation line extending transversely across at least a portion of the web with an end of the tear propagation line terminating proximal to the first longitudinal edge of the web. The separation region includes a tear initiation feature including edges spaced apart from one another longitudinally to form a permanent opening in the web.
STATION FOR SEALING THERMOFORMED CONTAINERS FOR PACKAGING LINES
A station for sealing thermoformed containers for a packaging line and a method for sealing the containers includes a sealing carousel which rotates continuously about a central axis and includes sealing heads which are radially spaced apart from said central axis. Each sealing head is adapted to receive at least one container to be sealed at a first, input, peripheral region, which is outside the sealing carousel; receive at least one closing seal at a second, input, peripheral region, which is outside the sealing carousel; and hold the closing seal and the container during the rotation of the sealing carousel and couple them together.
The station further releases the container complete with the closing seal at a third, output, peripheral region, which is outside the sealing carousel and angularly spaced from the first and from the second region.
WRAPPING DEVICE FOR SHEET-LIKE FOOD
A wrapping device is a device configured to wrap sheet-like food around shaped food. The wrapping device includes a main body, two guide members at a given interval therebetween so as to protrude from the main body, and a control part configured to control at least one of the two guide members. The control part controls operation of the two guide members so that, in a state where the sheet-like food is placed on the two guide members and the food placed on the sheet-like food passes through between the two guide members, a part of at least one of the two guide members moves an end of the sheet-like food toward the center of the food to wrap the end of the sheet-like food around the food.
Stack of laminar material for forming packages and method of use
A stack of laminar material for forming packages, the stack including full panels having a predetermined total length and formed with transverse creases along which the full panels are folded in accordion-like pleats. The stack includes at least one longitudinal cut on each full panel to form at least two transversely adjacent stacks of partial panels having respective partial widths, which are less than the total width. The at least one cut is incomplete, so that each partial panel of a respective stack and the partial panel of the stack adjacent thereto will have at least one connecting section therebetween, having a predetermined minimum length, for holding the partial panels of the adjacent stacks together, to thereby keep the adjacent stacks substantially aligned while facilitating the separation of each of the partial panels as they are unwound by a pulling action from each adjacent stack.
