A combined intraocular pressure (IOP) measuring and eye medication dispensing device may include a first micro-electro-mechanical-system (MEMS) sensor to generate IOP measurements of a living organism's eye; a medication dispensing device to dispense medication into the living organism's eye; a second MEMS micro-dispenser to interface with the medication dispensing device and to control the dispensing of the medication into the living organism's eye; and an analog-to-digital (A-to-D) converter to receive control signals. The A-to-D converter may communicate the control signals to the first MEMS sensor or the second MEMS micro-dispenser; receive the generated IOP measurements from the first MEMS sensor; receive medication dispensing parameters from the second MEMS micro-dispenser or medication dispensing device, and communicate the generated IOP measurements or the medication dispensing parameters. The device may also include a communications interface to receive the control signals from one or more processors in an external control module.

SLEEP SYSTEM WITH FEATURES FOR PERSONALIZED DAYTIME ALERTNESS QUANTIFICATION
20230190183 · 2023-06-22 ·

Disclosed are systems and methods for determining daytime alertness of users. A system can include at least one sensor for sensing physical phenomenon of a user and a computer system. The computer system can receive, from the sensor, sensor readings of the user during a sleep session, provide, as input, the sensor readings to a model that was trained to predict alertness levels of the user based on physical phenomenon of the user and/or historic data about the user and/or a population of users, receive, as output from the model, data indicating predicted alertness levels of the user for a period of time, determine behavior suggestions for the user based on the predicted alertness levels for the period of time, and generate output to be presented in a graphical user interface display to the user including at least one of (i) the predicted alertness levels and (ii) the behavior suggestions.

CATHETER VALVE DEVICES AND METHODS
20230191080 · 2023-06-22 ·

Devices and methods are described for urinary catheters and catheter valves. For example, this disclosure relates to urinary catheters having valves that facilitate testing of a user’s ability to urinate.

Medication management and reporting technology

Medication management and reporting technology, in which output from at least one sensor configured to sense physical activity in a building in which medication of a patient is located is monitored and a determination is made to capture one or more images of the medication based on the monitoring. A camera is used to capture an image of the medication and the captured image is analyzed to detect a state of the medication. Information regarding a schedule by which the medication should be taken by the patient is accessed and an expected state of the medication is determined. The detected state is compared with the expected state and a determination is made that the patient has departed from the schedule based on the comparison revealing that the detected state does not match the expected state. A message indicating the departure from the schedule is sent based on the determination.

Hardness meter and hardness measuring method for estimating target object having hardness estimation portion that estimates hardness of measurement object based

The objective of the present invention is to provide a hardness meter which estimates hardness in a stable manner regardless of a compression strength. A hardness meter includes: a movable portion which is continuously pressed against an object to be measured; a sensor which outputs an output signal reflecting a reaction force at a part of the object to be measured; a motive force mechanism that causes the movable portion to perform a piston motion; a hardness estimating portion which estimates the hardness of the object on the basis of an alternating current component of the output signal, generated by the piston motion; a position estimating portion which estimates a measurement position information by shooting with a camera; and a hardness map display portion which maps and displays the hardness on a schematic diagram of the surface of a living body based on the measurement position information.

Health State Trends for a Consistent Patient Situation
20170351827 · 2017-12-07 ·

This document describes techniques and apparatuses enabling determination of health state trends for a consistent patient situation. Various noninvasive health monitors can be used to sense a patient's situation and health states, including disease progression, at those states. These noninvasive health monitors may also act passively and in a patient's normal course of life, which enhances many patient's desire to submit to monitoring, as well as increase consistency of use, as in many cases the patient does little or nothing to cause his or her health monitoring and health-trend determination. With health states determined for a consistent patient situation, more accurate and more robust health trends can be determined.

ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY DETECTION SYSTEM AND METHODS

Embodiments herein include systems and methods for detecting, predicting and/or assessing acute kidney injury. In an embodiment, a monitoring system to detect acute kidney injury is included. The monitoring system can include a sensor circuit configured to collect renal data including at least one of systemic renal data, direct renal data, urinary tract data, and renal-relevant extracorporeal data. The monitoring system can also include a memory circuit to store collected renal data, an evaluation circuit to assess renal status, and a telemetry circuit. The evaluation circuit can determine whether acute kidney injury has occurred or is likely to occur by comparing the renal data to at least one of threshold values, personal historical values, patient population values and patterns indicative of acute kidney injury. The evaluation circuit can initiate a warning notification if acute kidney injury has occurred or is likely to occur. Other embodiments are also included herein.
