Unwinding a film roll in a packaging machine
A packaging machine which unwinds a bottom film web from a supply roll and conveys it intermittently or continuously along the packaging machine and in a forming station, forms into the bottom film web packaging cavities, which are then filled with a product to be packaged. In a sealing station, a top film web is sealed to the bottom film web, wherein the bottom and top film web are respectively unwound from a supply roll and the bottom and top film web are respectively tensioned by means of a dancer roll. The supply roll is driven by means of a motor, the parameters of which, in particular rotation speed and/or torque, can be set on the basis of the parameters of the respective supply roll.

Method for automatically controlling the feed of a film web in a packaging machine
In the method for automatically controlling the feed of a film web in a packaging machine, the feed length is controlled on the basis of specific measurements in such a way that, during following forming cycles, the acquired second distance corresponds to the first distance or deviates from the first distance by a defined amount.

Packaging method to enable re-sterilization of medical device
A method of packaging pre-filled medical devices is disclosed. The method comprises producing a packaging having a front panel and a back panel defining a compartment capable of holding one or more medical devices wherein at least one of the front panel or top panel has a portion containing a gas permeable material while the remaining portion of the pouch is gas impermeable. This gas permeable material allows gas to pass through the material and contact the one or more articles contained within the compartment or allows gas to pass through the gas permeable material from the inside of the compartment to the outside of the container. Upon completion of sterilization, the pouch is sealed and the gas permeable portion is cut away leaving the sterilized medical device enclosed in a completely gas impermeable pouch.
