The invention relates to a method for wrapping and sealing a flexible sheet over an insert (10) to produce a pack (100) for preparing a food or beverage product from one or more ingredients; the pack comprising an insert (10) and a container (20) made from the flexible sheet folded to store the one or more ingredients, the flexible sheet being arranged overwrapping and matching the shape of the insert (10) in its entirety except for the part of the insert (10) in direct communication with the inner volume of the container (20); the method comprising the following steps: holding the insert (10) so that it is substantially perpendicular with respect to the flexible sheet; moving the insert (10) towards the flexible sheet, until it touches a bottom sealing tool (210); moving at least two side sealing tools (220, 230) towards the insert (10); applying by the bottom sealing tool (210) and by the side sealing tools (220, 230) a certain required pressure and temperature to achieve a tight sealing of the flexible sheet over the entirety of the insert (10) except for the part of it in direct communication with the inner volume of the container (20). The invention further relates to a device (200) for wrapping and sealing a flexible sheet over an insert (10) to produce a pack (100) for preparing a food or beverage product from one or more ingredients.
POUCH REGISTRATION MONITORING AND CONTROL SYSTEM
A system for controlling registration on a pouch knife machine of a longitudinally extending bandolier of content containing pouches separated by transverse seal seams moving along a feed path, with each pouch having a measurement reference. The machine includes a knife mechanism, a friction drag mechanism, and a friction drag adjustment mechanism. The system includes an optical reference, an optical image sensor, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine an actual position of the measurement reference relative to an optical reference, determine an alignment input based upon the actual position of the measurement reference relative to the optical reference, determine an alignment difference between a target position and the alignment input, and generate an adjustment command to change the position of the bandolier along the feed path after the alignment difference exceeds the operating range for the target position.

The invention relates to a device for welding a connection region of a film to a connection part having an axial direction. In the case of conventional devices, there is the risk of steep workpiece edges causing uncontrolled weak spots in the film and in the weld seam. According to the invention, the film is extended in a controlled manner such that the film has a length reserve. The film is extended in such a way that the film has a deformation cross-section that runs out such that the deformation is not visible on the final product. A container (100) is formed by being folded and sealed on one of a multiplicity of male dies (12) of an apparatus (10). The male die (12) with the container (100) placed thereon is inserted into a female die (120). The female die (120) retains the container (100) while the male die (12) is removed therefrom. Lips (110-112) of the container (100) are sandwiched against the female die (120) while product is pushed thereon to prevent collapse of the container (100). The multiplicity of male dies (12) are relatively moveable by rotating about an axis (20) relative to the female die (120).
